Pumpkin Pie Matcha

From yesterday. Found a sample I forgot I had. Made a cold latte with sweetener. To me it isn’t any pumpkin pie I’ve ever had. Not really a chai either. More like pumpkin spices. It is a comforting flavor even cold. I’m glad I was too lazy to get my normal matcha out of the freezer and refill my tin.

This tea makes the happiest matcha latte ever. Especially if you’re a loser like me and have Pumpkin Spice flavored sweeteners too. I went with the standard level of flavoring, so I was afraid it might need a little coaxing out, but it honestly didn’t need much help.

The sweet, creaminess of the pumpkin flavoring captured the sweet custard pumpkin flavor in the pie and pairs really well with the creaminess of a latte, and the cinnamon and clove notes are given a bit of oomph from a sweetener (especially one with a complimentary flavor profile), but are strong enough to seal the pumpkin pie illusion regardless.

Like usual, the matcha was solid and made a satisfying backdrop.

Must have messed this up something fierce the first time I made this. The spices are definitely prevalent amoung the flavors. I’m not sensing much pumpkin. It’s there but it’s not as strong as I thought it was going to be.

Morning matcha milk! This sample came from cookies, thank you dear! I’ve been using my lovely new Blender Bottle for these, and it works beautifully (plus I love that it has measurement marks along the side and a really wide mouth so I can sift right into it). This matcha milk was 1/2 teaspoon of matcha and 4 ounces of unsweetened soy milk.

The verdict: very tasty! I can actually taste the pumpkin part instead of just spices (although the nuttiness of the soy milk itself probably helps with that). The spicing is quite mild, so honestly this reminds me more of a roasted piece of squash or a baked sweet potato with a bit of brown sugar and spice over the top. Delish! :)

This isn’t bad, but I can’t say I get pumpkin pie out of it. It’s a nice light spicy matcha, more pumpkin spice than pumpkin pie. It’s heavy on the cloves with a bit of cinnamon and maybe a sprinkle of nutmeg. No discernible pumpkin unfortunately. But, still, it’s a lovely tea for a cool winter afternoon.

I have done the unthinkable for me…….I tried this shaken up in water. It is not as fantastic as a latte, but it still works! I am pleasantly surprised! Lots of spiciness with a hint of pumpkin. Mine is a small with robust flavoring.
1/2 tsp in about 8 oz water. I will be doing this again and trying it with my other flavors.

(I just noticed that the amount of tea must be at least 1 tsp. in the “How much tea and water did you use?” section. I think that placeholder there needs to be formatted to not round numbers….it rounded my 0.5 tsp to 0 no matter how I entered it.)

I love pumpkin :D I’m in an orange colour theme mood, I had my hair cut short today and I toned it myself to an orange colour with the hopes of eventually going super bright orange. And well pumpkin is very orange and this tea was my craving as a before dinner tea. I’m just loving orange right now. _

I made this as a late with no additional sweetener but it does have a sprinkle of chocolate on the top. It smells a little like pumpkin but softly, oh I should mention my strength is ‘robust’.

In flavour I can taste lots of cinnamon and spice but also subtle pumpkin with a touch of natural sweetness. Each sip is full of flavour and it truly does have a pumpkin pie feel about it.

I’m gulping this down with delight so I think I’ll have another one in a moment too :)

Thank you Roswell Strange (and aisling of tea) for a generous sample of this tea. Once I had the milk and everything ready for matcha milk, I decided I should probably go ahead and make some. This was the first one I grabbed and so I got to work on prepping it. As I drink it though, I am noticing that more than anything, this tastes like cloves with a hint of nutmeg and not much else. It is not bad but I think there are many other matchas I far prefer. It is still nice to have variety though and this would probably be more appealing in the fall (as opposed to one of the first days where the temperature climbed above 10C).

I’ve always loved having a large glass of milk when I get home from a long day of work (calcium, yo!) and it’s even better being able to have a large glass of matcha whisked milk now! Serendipitous, actually.

I’m so happy with this though, which is good because they sent so much! It blended amazingly well and frothed up really nicely too. On top of that, it tastes very good (not too weak or strong, and no grassy matcha taste) – and just like pumpkin pie gunk. The only thing that’d make it better is some super rich creamy vanilla icecream. Yes! I definitely want to try making a milkshake with this one! Vanilla icecream, milk, and pumpkin pie matcha! Mmm!
