Sipdown, 118. This one turned out to be a good one to finish up via cold brew. This brew in particular came out really well. The flavors are nicely balanced and the result is overall slightly sweet in the aftertaste. The last MF tea in my stash!

Oh! Yummy Mandarin! With floral notes – more notably – Jasmine. Not overly Jasmine – but a nice level of Jasmine! Yes! It’s a nice one! The mandarin definitely kicks it up a notch for me, tho!

Very nice!

That does sound good.

this tea is exactly what it says it is! in an amazingly accurate way.

but seriously i love orange in my teas. when i’m pulling a scoop from a tea blended with orange bits, i consciously try to not be too greedy with the big rind chunks, cuz if i let myself go wild i’d just have a canister of plain tea by the time i got half way through. the jasmine softens out the mandarin. brightens and lightens. and the tea itself is confident and relaxed.

maybe Mariage Freres only lets you buy tea in 100g increments because they know better than you do that you’ll need that much after you taste it and get to know it. they’re like “we know what’s good for you. now take your tea and move along.”

thanks again and again Dinosara for sending me such considerate quantities to sample.

No 11:
The dry leaf smells gently of mandarine & jasmine.
This was a pleasant cup, & I’ll probably give it another go before the box sets off to Canada.

Picked this up while in Germany and finally had time to try it.

I don’t really get a lot of jasmine but I do love a strong jasmine so maybe that’s why I don’t get much of it.

I get a nice smooth black flavor, perfect for the morning. I do get a bit of the bergamot too. I’m glad it’s nice and subtle as it just adds to the black jasmine instead of overpowering it.

Have you tried MF’s mandarin jasmine? It’s pretty amazing! I never thought to combine the two, but man it works!

I haven’t yet but I do have that one. That’s a great idea!

I’m on my second cup of this now.
