From Lupicia

CAROL: a strawberry and vanilla flavored black tea accented with coconut flakes, elegantly decorated with rose petals. Reminiscent of a Christmas cake, this gently sweet tea is delicious straight but also goes well with milk.

Got this as a sample with the latest newsletter and figured I should try it before I make my Lupicia run for the holiday teas. ;) I dont really get why this is a holiday tea as strawberry and vanilla don’t scream Christmas to me, but it turns out this is quite cozy. The vanilla makes it very creamy. The strawberry is very mild. I liked it! So, I guess I better add it to the ever growing list! I think I’ll get the decaf version, as I’m enjoying having tea in the evenings since the weather has gotten colder.

Inkling

Mmm, this sounds like a great year-round blend!

Yum Yum! One of my Must-Have’s for a seasonal purchase from Lupicia! I didn’t get my newsletter yet with the sample. :(

Free sample that came in the Lupicia newsletter. I probably don’t need any more caffeine today, especially as I am already freaking out about the stuff I need to do today: apply for a job, design a poster as a favor to the Sierra Club and attend a networking event tonight. Also my brother is in town…

Anyhoo, I had the Decaf Carol last year but I drank it all. This is the caffeinated version and it strikes me as mostly the same, it’s a nice black tea with strawberry and vanilla flavors. Drinking with a bit of soymilk and stevia. I like the strawberry teas from Lupicia but I think the strawberry and rhubarb is still my favorite. This is tasty but not something I feel the need to run out & buy (which is good — since I have enough tea as it is!)

mmmm strawberry and vanilla… do. not. need. more. tea.

TeaBrat

haha, right?

Anna

Their green strawberry and vanilla is still on my list of best things ever.

Dustin

Ooooo, I haven’t gotten that newsletter yet! I’ll be on the lookout. I JUST bought some fall teas from them and then they come out with winter teas that I want to try! I need to look away. I probably have over 30 Lupicia teas at the moment.

Ost

Is it like Momoko?

TeaBrat

@Ost – hmm, I don’t think so. I wasn’t a huge fan of momoko which to me seemed very artifical peachy tasting.

TeaBrat

@ Dustin – I have a lot of their teas also, I have lost track of the #! :)

Anna

AAAH! You made me count! I have 36 Lupicia teas excluding samples. This madness, it must end.

I agree with the other reviews noting the particularly artificial “strawberry” scent. Overall a good tea with nice flavoring — but I think darker tea leaves would’ve provided more contrast and balancing to the light citrus and rose.

This tea is pretty good. It doesn’t strike me as amazing, but it’s different.

This is very similar to their year-round Yume blend, just a little less sweet or strong. Smells like delicious strawberry candy, tastes like creamy black tea mixed with strawberries and a hint of astringency on the swallow. Compared to Yume, the flavors are more mellowed out, but they’re both delicious. It just depends how much of a strawberry vanilla mood you’re in. Rating it a smidge lower than I would normally because while the flavor is great, I found it a little bit drying.

This is a really great tea. I’m not really a fan of subtle flavor and this one has a strong strawberry nesquik flavor. I really like it. I don’t even need to add milk and sugar to make it a sweet, creamy treat. I love strawberry vanilla.

The aroma of Strawberries and Vanilla come to mind when steeping this.

At first I thought I couldn’t taste the black tea but its blended well so that it doesn’t stand out. Overall, I like this tea – it is smooth so you barely taste any bitterness.

This would probably taste very good with milk and a bit of sugar.

(note: this does get a bit bitter if over-steeped; be careful with steeping time)

This tea is very flavorful and has powerful aromas of Vanilla and Strawberry. This was a Christmas present and I have nearly completed the bag of loose leaf already. It’s very easy to drink and although it’s a black tea blend it is very relaxing and calming. It’s mildly sweet and very hearty so it stand up well to multiple steeps. I prepared this with my inginuiTEA from Adagio tea as well as in a Manmarukyuusu. Also taste great as an iced tea.
