This one kick off by showing coffee bean taste that go away as the temperature cool down and disappear at the subsequent brew. A very soft tea with a touch of bitterness, the intensity of the other flavours (malt, sweetness, dark chocolate…) varies as you drink. A really good black tea without dryness and I really like the intensity of the sweetness of this one. WATER USED: Nestlé Pure Life.

This is a delightfully robust black tea that stands up well to milk. It does get bitter fast if you over-brew it, but brewed for 3 minutes or less in just barely boiling water it comes out rich and chocolatey with just the slightest hint of smoke. Also, this shouldn’t matter to me as much as it does, but the tin is just so darn cute! One of my favorite breakfast blends.

I’ve kept all the empty Kusmi tins I got from a sampler a few years ago. They are cute and the perfect size to transfer dwindling amounts of tea into.

I received this box of Kusmi Russian Morning teabags from my parents. The first two times I tried it, I didn’t like it — it was too smoky and not smooth enough for me. The smell of the tea before brewing is also pretty offputting because of how dark and bitter it seems. I’m surprised I gave it a third try, but I’m glad I did — this time it turned out much smoother and I can see why others like it. I don’t think I’ll buy more of this tea because there are others I prefer, but I would have this if I were in a restaurant or at a friend’s house.

Long time no talk fellow tea drinkers! I finally got a new computer so it’s easier to type notes instead of trying on a tablet. Well my mom went to Paris this past week and brought back some teas for me. One of them was Russian Morning No. 24. I decided to have it with breakfast and it was a great choice!
The tea has a nice bold flavor to it. It also has a nice sweet honey note to it. It has a fruit flavor to it that almost reminds me of warm peaches or warm apples. It has a bit of spice to it but overall has a great flavor.

The first day I tried it I thought it was too mild. This was the first time I tried a more refined tea brand. I was usually having Twinings’ English Breakfest. After having it for two weeks every morning (no milk) I can truly say I love it. It has a nice deep taste that stays with you for some time after you finished with it. My mistake was that I was using less tea than I think I should.

Full-bodied and bold. Unfortunately too strong for me. (I like the name of the tea though! It sounds like a fancy perfume).

today´s morning cuppa : while writing a letter to a friend who lives at the other side of the world, I enjoyed Russian Morning No.24. Nothing spectacular on the taste buds which was a good thing when writing the letter ;-) Another good thing : no bitterness when forgetting about the mug for a while.

I love this tea, but only because I need something to wake me up in the morning, and it does the job very well—it’s got a somewhat nutty flavor too. However, I would not drink it during the day.

Yum, this is a fine black tea! The taste is so mild — sometimes black tea is very overpowering. I found it to be a bit one-note, but perhaps following Kusmi’s advice of adding milk or sugar may help the flavor. I tried leaving the bag in the second time I steeped it because the tea was so mild-tasting, but this just resulted in bitterness. Do not leave the bag in for this one.

“The taste is so mild” – This was exactly my feeling after having it for the first time this morning. I need something with a stronger taste. I have a full 125 g caddy to take care the next weeks, therefore let’s see how my perceptions change.
