Don’t we all love a piece of chocolate cake now and again? This creation is a must for all chocolate fans with its lively, sweet, chocolaty cake aroma and the beautiful decoration of rosebuds.

Toasty and caramel-y. I’m not really picking up on the chocolate, but there does seem to be some sort of baked goods scent coming from my cup. There’s also something perfume-y and slightly artificial in the aftertaste.
There’s a strong wood flavor that I’m thinking is the honeybush. I think I don’t dislike it.
I feel like I’m the middle of the woods sniffing at slice of cake.
I might brew it stronger next time and add sugar and milk.
This definitely smells like chocolate cake once brewed! The taste is way more subtle, more like the essence of chocolate cake rather than the flavor – what’s interesting is that it’s definitely chocolate cake I’m getting, not just chocolate, but that particular cakey flavor. Not very sinful, and unlikely to replace dessert, but it’s a fun cup of tea if tea can be said to be fun.
You totally can’t judge this tea by the smell of the dried leaves alone. When you take a whiff of the dry blend, it’s more of a caramel creme smell. It’s only after hot water melts the chocolate bits that the smell of chocolate come through; along with notes of toasty vanilla and a subtle hint of floral. I didn’t find the floral rose notes until I began looking for them, but after you’re aware, it does add a nice complexity to the cup.
I should also add that I’ve never liked a chocolate desert type tea. I guess I’ve changed my mind!
