This is really a tasty rooibos chai. It has a very pleasing balance of spices – spicy, but not too spicy, with just the right peppery kick to it. I taste the nutty tones of the rooibos which usually I’d prefer not to taste, but here, it works. A nice depth of flavor. Sweet, spicy, and delicious. The citrus peel adds just a touch of brightness to the cup without overthrowing the balance.

Very nice.

I’ve been on a tea spree. I wanted to try Fusion’s other chai teas because I really loved the chai aspect in their Caramel Chai Pu-erh. They sent me a sample of this with my order. This blend looks like a spicy everything-but-the-kitchen-sink. They add extra ingredients to their blend, that other chais might not usually have, like anise. I don’t think I’ve had a rooibos chai before. It seems like rooibos would make a good base for a chai, and really lends itself to other flavors. But here, it seems like it takes away some space in the blend for more spices. The spicier the better for me! The steep color was an orange rather than a red. Also, I’ve noticed the pepper flavor in any tea really only shows itself when the tea water was JUST boiled. I love this, but I would love to see a full chai blend from Fusion. Their spice mix is so great, it would be a nice standalone.

I find myself really liking rooibos chai blends, but then, I’ve had some good ones. I’m with you on the spicier the better. I like my chi blends with a balance and variety of spices, but I like them intense.

I’m shocked I am the first to log this. This is quite good. It’s spicy but not too spicy and it’s sweet from your rooibos. I can taste the citrus which comes from the Citrus Peel. The vanilla helps smooth it out and it pretty yummy!
