Inkling Advent Day 23. This is an interesting tea. It combines a bright candy strawberry with a slightly grassy green tea. Nothing about it is cakey, but the strawberry is tasty and even better with some milk added. Then it gets a strawberry and cream sort of vibe, which is fun, though the green tea does stick through a bit more than I would prefer.

Sipdown 178-2021

This cup was much more creamy and less tart/fruity than previous cups. The green base is also much more apparent and is a bit seaweedy, which isn’t really working with the heavy cream flavor.

Part of my recent order/sub box from Dessert by Deb!

I like this tea, especially as I like strawberry flavouring in teas, and although I don’t know that the flavour is overly unique, I appreciate that the base is better than many strawberry greens I’ve been acquainted with. And, I think the coconut may add a slight creamy touch, which I always am a fan of! Not a repurchase, but I’ll certainly enjoy this bag!

Sipdown! (5 | 373)

I have a 100g tin of this on its way to me, so I didn’t feel bad about using the remainder of this pouch for a pitcher of cold brew.

I’m finding it quite different from the hot cuppa, the strawberry has more tartness to it. I’m also getting a strong honey note that I don’t remember tasting before, and looking at the ingredients I’m not sure where it’s coming from. Not really tasting coconut much at all.

I quite like it actually, it’s like a strawberry cordial with honey and a bit of green tea. Quite refreshing for these hot days!

Cold Brew!

This is pretty good! I actually didn’t think I was going to enjoy it based on the smell but I’m happy to be proven wrong. The aroma is definitely very strawberry forward with some creaminess but it also smells a bit plastic-like and artificial. Did anyone else have those strawberry scented Strawberry Shortcake dolls from the 90s? That’s what the smell reminded me of and, while it _was) nostalgic, nothing plastic smelling usually tastes that good…

Here’s a photo of the dolls if anyone wants to take a trip down nostalgia lane: https://allisonveneziowrites.files.wordpress.com/2020/02/snapshot6-2.jpg?w=640

The steeped taste is very soft and refreshing though – also not plastic tasting at all. I would say I get some of the grassiness on the front of the sip first from the green tea, and then it’s a light to medium bodied whipped strawberry and coconut sort of medley. Not necessarily “cake” but confectionery in a lot of regards. It’s still refreshing though, and not sugary/too sweet. It’s working well for me tonight!

I totally remember those dolls! My sister had a few of them and I can still picture the smell in my mind’s eye…

Mastress Alita

I remember once one of the books in our library’s children’s collection was scented with the “little girls pink plastic stuff” smell. I am not a fan of it… (but, it also wasn’t the worst smell I’ve found on a book, either).

oh but I like those strawberry cake rolls…finished a box recently actually. haha :X
