From DAVIDsTEA

Party like a flock star with this fabulously fruity white tea. Bursting with strawberry, passion fruit and cute little flamingo sprinkles, it’s a satisfying way to stay cool no matter what you get up to – from killing it at the gym to busting moves on the dancefloor. Try it as a caffeinated iced tea. It’ll have you tickled pink.

How it tastes:

Sweet with a fresh and fruity burst of bright juicy strawberry and tropical passion fruit

What makes it great:

● We added little pink flamingo sprinkles for a touch of sweetness.

● It’s got a base of naturally caffeinated white tea which is known for being rich in skin-loving antioxidants.

● Makes the most amazing fruity iced tea.

50 g of this tea makes around 10-12 16 oz cups of hot tea and 5-7 16 oz cups of iced tea.

Apple (apple, citric acid), pineapple (pineapple, sugar), hibiscus blossoms, white tea, sprinkles (sugar, rice flour, cocoa butter, thickener tragacanth, beetroot juice concentrate), natural flavouring, carrots, orange peel, lemongrass, strawberry, passion fruit (apple puree concentrate, ascorbic acid, passion fruit concentrate), marigold blossoms.

Allergens: coconut

F is for … Flamingo Fresca!! (Ode To Tea)
Flamingo Fresca makes for a perfect glass of ice tea mixed with lemonade! If you haven’t tried this combination yet you need to run to your kitchen right this instant and make it now!! It’s delicious for a warm evening like today and the lemonade add just the right amount of sweetness to the tarty, fruitiness. It’s a must try for sure

Not unnatural tasting sweetner… really this note is just to say I might not be on Steepster much as I will be out of town for a couple weeks (as hesitant as I am due to Covid. Sipdown (351)

It’s January in London and there is a lot of snow on the ground but it is above freezing outside and sunny and apparently I am channeling Summer since I have been thinking of iced tea and tea pops and am currently cooking mango salsa chicken in the Instant Pot.

This tea definitely says Summer, especially with its cute flamingo sprinkles. My preference would have been to make a teapop but I only had a single serving pouch and thought it would be too diluted so instead I went with a plain iced tea.

This is quite nice. No artificial or waxy note that DAVIDsTEA’s fruitier teas sometimes get. It is strawberry and some passion fruit/tropical. It is nothing earth shattering but it is making for a nice and refreshing iced tea which is what I wanted. Personally, I would probably pick up more of this in the future. Is it even on the tea wall still?

Roswell Strange

It is not on the tea wall anymore, sadly (but maybe still online?) – it was limited edition for the Summer. I found it a bit too tart, personally, but it was CRAZY popular/well received in general.

VariaTEA

It wasn’t tart at all for me so maybe I just happened to get a good mix of ingredients.

I finished my last portion of this today too! It’s a bummer it’s not available now!

When you open the bag— it is bursting with fruity strawberry aromas. I love the little flamingos hiding in the blend— David is full of surprises. This tea steeps up with a much more mild flavor than the aroma that rushes out of the bag. It is very smooth, it is neither too fruity or flowery.

Thanks to amandastory516 for this tea! It’s definitely tastier than the usual DavidsTEA fruit tea. It tastes like sweet strawberries. It’s very light with no sourness. It’s much better cold. Really, this is one of the most enjoyable fruit teas I’ve had in a while.

I only bought a small amount of this (something like 12g) and have made several pitchers of iced tea with it. I will be buying more because I’m loving the strawberry.

This is the freshest strawberry flavour I’ve come across so far. The hibiscus is too sour, but you can add sweetener or brew this in lemonade for something less tart. I can’t say I taste any tea at all, and you don’t see much tea in it either. It is more of a herbal than a white tea.

I feel like the fact that this was labelled a “white tea” was the worst part of the blend. For a fruit tea, it wasn’t bad!

In store sample

Nice strawberry with gentle hibiscus on white tea base. The base is almost invisible in terms of flavour. I can see this being a pleasant summer verandah cooler.

New teas!

This is probably the “big one” from the collection – and it’s kind of been available for a while? I mean, in the sense that we were giving away free samples in store. Now it’s officially launched though, and if you enjoyed the sample (or didn’t have a chance to stop in store and get one) you can pick up larger amounts of it!

This is definitely one of those teas that’s meant to be very visually appealing and draw you in that way – it has bright fruit pieces and really cute flamingo sprinkles. I’m not overly fond of sprinkles in my tea, but I get that there’s definitely a HUGE amount of people who go nuts over them and this was admittedly a very cute choice.

Flavour wise, the blend is sweet, fruity and quite tart. The main flavour is, in my opinion, absolutely the hibiscus – but you also get a strong sense of tropical fruit flavour like the passionfruit and pineapple, and a good amount of strawberry. I think the strawberry is very nice, and it’s the main flavour here balancing out the tartness of everything else. You certainly cannot taste the white tea base – and I guess that could be a pro or a con depending on your own preferences for white tea. For me it’s a bit closer to being a con. I’ve tried this blend several ways now, and my favourite was iced with lemonade – but I did like it straight iced too. Wasn’t super big on it hot; it was just too tart.

Not my jam (I wish we’re brought back Passion Punch, personally) but this is fun and lively – quite a flavourful tea and one that I think will really appeal to a lot of people. It very much captures the essence and spirit of summer.

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

Sipdown! 89/365

Free tea sample from International Women’s Day! An unexpected and happy surprise, since I missed the previous day’s matcha.

The directions were to infuse the whole packet in 8oz water, then fill with ice. Presumably, a 16oz cup? Anyways, that is more or less what I did, even though I don’t usually ice my teas in that manner (I brew at normal strength and pop them in the fridge). Although the tea smelled amazing in the sachet, brewed up it is fine but nothing special. A lemonadey hibiscus fruit tea. Another “white” tea where you pay dearly for heavy fruits and can’t taste the white tea at all. Don’t get me wrong – it’s perfectly tasty, but probably would have been better done as an herbal, at likely a reduced cost.
