I had not read too much on this tea before purchasing, but I did notice it is a rather popular blend. I let it brew for a good 6 minutes before I tried any and actually decided to just leave the tea bag in the cup while I drank it. I could really taste the different things that went into the tea, I had that slight creaminess and a hint of coconut. I did not get too much caramel until I was about half way through the cup so I think next time I’ll let it steep longer. As much as I was enjoying this tea, there was some herb or flavor that I kept getting, that I was not the biggest fan of, I didn’t mind it but it just felt a little out of place for my liking.
Overall I did enjoy the tea and will enjoy what I have left of it, I might purchase more if my next couple of cups don’t have that same taste, or if it changes more after a longer steeping.

This is the very first tea I was given by a co-worker that started my addiction with David’s tea. I love everything about this tea, even the subtle coconut. Let me tell you it really helps with sleep too! Definitely a staple night time tea.

I’m loving the coconut taste in this. I don’t particularly like the taste of valerian and the other flavours mask it well. Not sure it actually helps me sleep, but definitely relaxing.

A sachet of this came in the sampler bag I ordered, so I thought why not try it tonight? My first cup was….well honestly it was freaking delicious. I am so into all of DTs coconut teas, guys. The caramel adds the perfect kind of sweetness. The second cup was less delicious however – more of the apple-ness came out and it took on that sort of minerally flavor DTs apple blends seem to turn into, almost like the water isn’t filtered? (which mine always is) Still, I love that this is a non-traditional “sleepy time” tea without the usual villains like lavender or rose. I’m not sure if this is LE but I have sleeping problems that usually only medication works on, and this definitely helped. I think I’m going to grab a huge tin to always have on hand.

I love dessert teas and creamy caramel and coconut things, and I love the idea of a soothing night time tea, so this sounded like it was right in my wheelhouse. I ordered my 50g bag when it was finally released and it has been sold out pretty consistently since. It’s clearly very popular. I don’t think that I will ever purchase more of this, though. I don’t like the apple in this and it has a strong apple taste to me. The apple comes off sour and tart, and strangely boozy, like apples that are starting to rot and ferment. The caramel and coconut add a sickly sweetness that I can’t exactly identify as coconut or caramel. It comes off as a very artificial sweetness to me. The whole thing tastes sort of like overripe apples in a butter rum sauce. It has a definite sour quality that I find off putting.
I’m giving this a higher-ish rating, though, because the people that I’ve served it to at my home are actually fans of it (even one friend who normally hates sweet teas).
As far as being relaxing and making me sleepy, it doesn’t… but I have PTSD (and the related insomnia), so nothing short of my prescription medication will put me to sleep.
My only other complaint is that I can’t use this in my usual David’s Tea mugs, because little particles escape through the metal mesh and the cup becomes sort of sludgy and gross. Works fine in the David’s Tea bags, though.
I’m going to keep dreaming of a lavender and coconut tea (maybe a hint of mint?) with no caffeine. That’s what I want to go to bed with :)

My weekend guest from Winnipeg brought me a sampler of de-stress teas as a gift. She said she knew I was going to be stressed about moving to Mom’s at the end of March. She’s right. I do not want to go back to the childhood home. But mom is in her mid 80s. She has dementia. My older brother lives there as her primary caretaker with power of attorney. But she doesn’t want him washing her hair etc, and doesn’t want a stranger to come in and hel.. So my stuff goes into a rented storage cube and I go to Mom’s. Yeah, my friend is wise: I am stressed.

I am not generally a fan of chamomile, but it’s not prominent in this one. I wouldn’t have classified this one as a dessert tea. It’s not, really, but neither is it a medicine tea. The coconut flavor comes out pretty well in this one. Also something a bit sweet, like caramel or brown sugar. I don’t think I catch the valerian, which is strange. That has a very strong and repugnant (to me) scent. I’m glad it doesn’t come through.

So I can and I do recommend this tea. A nice way to end a busy, windy day.

If you need to talk now or later, you can PM me. I understand. Be kind to yourself. It is hard to lay everything down to be a caregiver. You are doing something few will do. Many here have walked through this, and will lend a kind and listening ear. Everything you do for her will be a beautiful act of love and kindness that came through sacrifice, and that is an awesome thing. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, whether it is a listening ear or someone who can do the dishes and give you some time to sit and read. You’ve got this! Hugs from afar…

Thank you, ashmanra! I will keep that in mind. My city offers a “Train the Caretaker” workshop which I am signed up for. At least my brother will be there and we can share the load. And as of now mom can still dress herself and use the bathroom etc. Since I’m a telecommuter I will be in the house while my brother works. We’ll see how it goes. I will certainly take you up on your offer of a sympathetic ear when I get stressed.

Ditto on everything ashmanra just said. It isn’t an easy road. Will be praying that your initial transition goes smoothly.

Thank you, gmathis.

Just spent an hour dealing with my tantrumming son; need a nice calming tea. I’d made this before he woke up crying, and now I get to have it cold. Oh well.

It’s really quite a pleasant sleepytime tea, as they go. I don’t mind the chamomile or valerian, and the coconut is fairly strong, which likely covers some less pleasant flavours.

This is my new go-to bedtime tea! I sleep like a baby after having a cup! Love the caramel flavour with that hint of coconut. I add a tiny amount of coconut agave to heighten the coconut flavour as I LOVE coconut. I just wish there was not rooibos in it, as, even though I don’t taste the roobios, I always find it escapes my infuser. I only use this tea with The Steeper or filters now.

I really like this tea. I can definitely taste the chamomile and caramel flavors-they blend nice together! After drinking this tea, I felt very sleepy and I actually slept through the night for a change. I am so going to stock up on this wonderful tea!
