Marvelous moringa

Never heard of Moringa? You’re not alone. But trust us. You need this “miracle tree” in your life. Native to Africa and Asia, its leaves are packed with vitamins, minerals – and even protein! And around the world, it’s used for everything from treating joint pain to strengthening the immune system. We combined this wonder plant with fruity peach and a spicy hint of ginger. It’s like an herbal cleanse in a cup. The best part? It actually tastes amazing.

I enjoyed this tea…has a very pleasant peachy herbal taste to it. It goes down smoothly. My boyfriend tried it and he really loved it-even more than me. He said I needed to get some more as I only got 10 g to try. I just might have to use one of my 50 g free reward from DT.

At first I kind of rolled my eyes at the “Feel-Good Collection”, but the two I’ve had have been good. This wins out because it has ginger, and I’ve yet to meet a ginger tea I don’t like. The peach is pretty obvious too and it’s a nice mix. I didn’t get so much of the moringa. There was a slight herbal/floral note that was probably it, but it wasn’t a big element. I considered picking this up as one of my free 50g but have pretty much decided to go for Nepal Black instead; I don’t see myself getting through 50g of this very quickly, especially considering I still have ginger pear from when I picked it up in late August…

Last one for the feel good collection. This one I also liked: a not-too-fruity base with ginger and herb (that must be the moringa). I used it up quickly being a herbal. I’m considering picking up more of this, although with my frequent steeper points I just got 50g free of ginger beer which this tea reminds me of (instead of peach, apple, but the prominent ginger taste is the same). I will have to see!

I’m getting mostly ginger taste from this one (reminiscent of DT’s Ginger Beer), with a faint hint of peach and a slight herbal note – I’m guessing that would be the moringa and maybe blackberry leaves. Can’t really detect any lemongrass but I’m ok with that. I wish the peach were stronger for a more balanced flavour, but it’s still nice. I added a bit of honey and it’s the perfect thing to soothe my cold. Tastes like I’m drinking healthiness in a cup!

My boyfriend’s review: “Hot peach is weird. It tastes slimy.”

So I’m back to school for a new semester and it’s been tough getting back into a routine. I decided that for a pick me up today I would run to my local store and purchase the new collection of teas! Unfortunately, my local store did not have all of them in stock, so I decided to just get a cup of this one to go.

I really enjoyed this one! I am a HUUUUGE ginger fan so I had high expectations. They were met! The longer the tea steeps, the stronger the ginger flavour gets; because I love it so strong I left my tea bag in the whole time. I also love the lemongrass in here. The peach part of the tea is definitely present. I would say the peach almost tastes artificial (think The Glow from DT – which is one of my favourites – this is definitely The Glow meets ginger), but the first ingredient in the tea is peach pieces, so I guess the peach is real!

By the time I got to class and went to drink this it was luke warm-ish. I am anticipating it being even better hot! No sweetner is needed as the sweetness of the peach is enough. The spicy-sweet balance is perfect.

I am looking forward to trying Mango Tumeric once my store has it and seeing which of the two I like better. I wish that I had purchased some of this loose-leaf today so that I would have more to sip on right now!

Dry leaf nose: a sweet herbal note followed by a distinct peach note and spicy ginger.

Liqueur: Golden yellow. Very juicy peach aroma with a ginger finish.

Flavour notes: Ripe peach flavors are forward, with a ginger heat and herbal finish.
