If you’re creative, high strung and full of nervous energy, chances are you’re a vata. According to ayurveda, vatas are excitable, creative and always on the move. Well, vatas, sometimes you need to stop and smell the roses – and this beautiful tea is full of them. Plus it has all sorts of other ingredients said to soothe a vata temperament: fennel seeds, coconut and licorice root. Just smelling it should produce a calming effect.

This was had as a cuppa in store.
I was amazed by how rich and layered the flavour was. It was very intriguing and stimulating, mentally, trying to figure out all the different levels of flavour I was getting in one mouthful.
Certainly an interesting tea, and worth trying. While I’m not sure if I’d add it to my regular collection, I’d definitely like to have another cup of it sometime in the near-future.
mmm, love this! I knew I had to try it as soon as I read the description. The flavors blend so nicely. Roses and coconut and licorice, who knew? and the chili thread are bringing the slightest warmth to my cheeks. This could be a nighttime tea for me.
I wasn’t sure about this tea before I tried it. I found the smell a little strong and it put me off the taste, but I figured I would brew it up since I bought it. After brewing the scent leveled out and the taste was delicious. I can feel the licorice on the back of my throat. The flavour is extremely calming and well balanced. This seems like it would be the perfect tea to have in a nice warm bath, with some candles and a good book.

Anyways, I couldn’t at all remember what I previously thought of this tea, but given the ingredients, it’s probably a big huge “yuck”. Which is about accurate for how I felt when I drank this last night, too. Mostly, the tea tastes like rose followed by the growing sweetness of fennel. It’s old, so it’s possible some of the other flavours weren’t as apparent as they once were, but I don’t think it would change my feelings on this. One positive thing though – I drank this while sore-throated last night, and although I hate lingering sweetness as a general rule, it actually felt pretty good on my throat. So I might grab another herbal licoricey tea to drink tonight. Maybe Bollywood Chai, or another thing I’ve never tried.
