From DAVIDsTEA

A citrus burst

This blend of high-grown oolong is truly rejuvenating. It’s scented with lemon myrtle, jasmine and natural citrus essences, and the result is light, fresh and uplifting. Hot, it’s soothing and citrusy. Iced, it’s an unbelievable thirst quencher. And infused into vodka, it makes the world’s best martinis. (MK Kosher)

Ingredients: Oolong tea, jasmine flowers, lemon myrtle, natural orange flavouring*.

You can definitely taste the jasmine in this tea. At first it seems like it steeps weak, but it just has a nice, floral taste. The floral notes overpower the citrus flavors.

This was the last of a small sachet I bought from Davids’ a while ago. The tea is a lot more floral than I remembered, reminds me of Tie Kwan Yin (which I incidentally detest). Its a jasmine overload on the senses.

It could be due to the citrus flavours fading over time, allowing the floral notes of the tea to come through more.

I brewed this for …15 mins because I got pulled away from my desk due to a work emergency. That could be another reason for the floral intensity!

I can see why its a popular tea, but not for me due to my aversion to sweet floral teas these days.

I’ve been wanting to try this tea for a while and as soon as I took a whiff of the loose leaf I knew this is what I would be brewing up today. The leaves are highly fragrant with citrus oil and visually the jasmine blossoms are startling. This tea brews up pretty pale, yellow/green, even if steeped over the recommended 3 minutes. I love the balance of floral jasmine, tart, natural citrus, and the smooth oolong body. One of my favorite teas I’ve tried at Davids Tea, partly because it is flavorful without being too sweet.

So nice to revisit some old favourites that I haven’t had in a while. I love how this perfectly balances the lemon and jasmine notes, while letting some oolong shine through, and not being at all tart. It’s light and refreshing and very easy to drink. I don’t think I’ve tried this iced or cold brewed yet, but the flavours pretty much demand it.

Lemon and jasmine sounds like a nice combination. :)

I’m a big fan of both flavours and they work really well together.

This is another tea I wasn’t quite prepared for…I was expecting a roastier oolong and more of a citrus flavour. What I got instead reminds me quite a bit of the Sleepytime bagged tea that I used to have as a child.

With that said, though, there are lemon and honey notes that are really delicious and the oolong is a delightful base. I’m not sure I like it enough to buy it for regular drinking, but it’d be good to have on hand for the next time I wind up with a head cold.

I was really excited when I saw this tea was added to the teabox. It sounded so good. It’s not as oolongy as I hoped it would be. The citron aspect is very nice, though. I am glad in the end that I found my smaller mug so I could do just an 8oz serving of this tea so someone else can try this as well.

This is definitely the first oolong tea I’ve had that I liked iced more than hot.
Hot was a bit… weird? I don’t know. But I like the lemony taste of this iced!
I find that icing oolongs really brings out the musky, smoky flavours out, which I don’t really enjoy in a cold drink. Because this one tasted more of lemon, rather than oolong, I figured that it’d be great iced! Good for a hot day like today :)

I couldn’t figure out what was it that drove me to get a pouch of this when I was at a DavidsTea store. I think I chalked it up to it being my preference for oolongs. But after looking at it’s ingredients I figured out that it was because of the jasmine in it. I have been crazy for jasmine lately and I’m always looking to add more teas that feature it to my collection.

Anyway, I like this one. The lemon adds a refreshing kick to it and the jasmine is quite soothing. This would make a fabulous “sick day” tea.

And now to continue my hunt for a sweet potato tea. I’m super cranky that Adagio discontinued theirs especially since Cara’s Bilbo blend looked SO delicious. But I think Lupicia has one so I may order that. If anyone knows of any others, feel free to suggest them.

I love the citrus aroma. It’s a really light and refreshing tea, which makes it not even seem like a oolong tea. I would even think it’s a white tea if it was a blind tasting. But this tea is really good for a simple drink.

This is a lighter tea than I’m used to, but I like it! You can definitely smell the jasmine before you even taste it. It’s lovely.
