Browncoats and bounty hunters unite! This decaffeinated, space frontier-inspired blend incorporates lemon-laced green tea (as we all know, our space future is rife with references to China) with the essence of strawberry (very hard-to-find in space unless you know a preacher), both combined to make your decaf cup sing (albeit not in a tone-deaf way).

If you know what a ‘space western’ looks like — or if you ever watched Firefly and Cowboy Bebop and thought, ‘Golly, these shows are awfully good n’ similar!’ — this decaffeinated green tea blend will revive your passion for outlaw-chasin’ and space-ship sailin’. See you next time, space tea! A decaf green-lemon-strawberry blend that always makes me feel light-bright-sweet. This is summer in a cup — still need to try it iced!

Because this blend includes both green and herbal tea, steeping time depends on the taste for which you’re looking. Steep for 3 minutes at a lighter temperature, and you get a green tea with a touch of strawberry. Steep for 5 minutes at a higher temperature, and you get a strawberry tea with a touch of green-lemon. Ah, choices!

I created this blend myself, and it has become one my favorite evening teas. There is a hint of flavor still missing from it, though, or so I feel — Space Cowboy may need one more flavor to become a fully-layered blend. Perhaps an update is in the near future!

5 tasting notes

This is one of the few green teas that I really like. The lemongrass is mellow and the strawberry gives it that PERK of fruit but doesn’t overwhelm everything. It is a soothing cup of tea, suited for summer, but it is always good to drink something hot on a cold day.
