Tea of the Week for March 23, 2020!
Full Disclosure: I am not a fan of PB & J. I’m just not. I didn’t like it as a kid – still don’t. But Bananas & Peanut Butter? Now that’s a different story altogether. That’s a combo I can eat anytime!
52Teas has done a couple of PB & J versions, but I don’t think we’ve done a Bananas & Peanut Butter blend – so I decided to change that right away. This is a blend of organic South African Herbs – Rooibos & Honeybush – combined with peanut butter essence & freeze-dried bananas. It’s sweet & yummy – not to mention NUT-free & PEANUT-free! It’s also organic, VEGAN & gluten-free!
Note: I highly recommend steeping this blend at least 8 minutes (more is fine, it won’t become bitter) & allowing it to cool for at least 5 – 10 minutes to allow the flavors to develop!

B is for… Bananas & Peanut Butter!
Smelled pretty strongly of rooibos (woody, medicinal) when I first brewed it, which was kind of offputting. Flavour is less rooibos-y, but really not getting anything in the way of bananas or peanut butter. Just a vaguely flavoured rooibos. It’s from 2 years ago; I don’t think I could taste banana/pb the first time I tried it either, but I’ll leave it unrated in the event that age is a factor here.

I love those ‘last night’ cups – they are great to have ready in the morning when I’m already craving tea tea tea. Therefore, I always have at least one cup going whenever I’m awake. :D
Had this the other night, it’s very good. Their banana anything are my favorites hehe. I would’ve loved more peanut butter taste too.
I was not impressed with this one when I first tried it but the time I’d finished off the sample (5/6 cups later) I’d warmed up to it greatly. 52Bananas forever.
