drank Vanilla Oolong by DAVIDsTEA
69 tasting notes

So…before I proceed I will admit that this post may contain spoilers (if you have also purchased David’s 24 teas of Christmas).

I always forget the proper execution of Advent Calendars!! I thought about it for a while and then decided I would use this adorable DavidsTea version to count down to Christmas. This means I started with #24.

Today’s edition (#23) was a delicious Vanilla Oolong. This is somewhat ironic because I just purchased David’s Vanilla Orchid Oolong as well, after realizing I hadn’t gotten any new oolongs for a spell. This one was simply delightful. Subtle warm vanilla hints in an otherwise traditional oolong.

My family’s Christmas party was last night. We had a house filled with neighbors, family and friends. It’s always great having an opportunity to catch up with people around the holidays. It really sparked the holiday spirit, and this morning, reflecting on this with a warm cuppan was a great way to start my day!

“The heaven of modern humanity is indeed shattered in the Cyclopean struggle for wealth and power. The world is groping in the shadow of egotism and vulgarity. Knowledge is bought through a bad conscience, benevolence practised for the sake of utility. The East and West, like two dragons tossed in a sea of ferment, in vain strive to regain the jewel of life…Meanwhile, let us have a sip of tea. The afternoon glow is brightening the bamboos, the fountains are bubbling with delight, the soughing of the pines is heard in our kettle. Let us dream of evanescence, and linger in the beautiful foolishness of things.” – Kakuzo Okakura, “The Book of Tea”

I am happiest at a tea room, or snuggled up at home with a freshly brewed cup.
