576 Tasting Notes
This is a sweet treat of a tea! The black tea base is bold but not bitter (always appreciated). The vanilla flavor shines through heavenly. Also great iced! :)

Old Standby. I’m trying to finish this up so I can buy the Maharaja Chai Oolong blend. I really do enjoy it more than this one, but since this blend has been so good to me over the years I can’t bear to drop the rating. Maybe I will get some of the Maharaja anyway and make a super blend of this with it!
No, that’s crazy town.
Ugh it’s been one of those weeks. Last week was the flu from hell (along with the six-day migraine). This week? Food poisoning. And migraine, of course. It’s been rough. I’m finally back at work. Folders and projects on my desk seem so foreign. What was that about?! <—me all AM Need a little kick, so I reach for my guayusa. Must try other incarnations of this wonderful tea!
ICK! I used to think I had food poisoning and found out it was an allergy to…nightshade foods. (My migraines give me flu-like symptoms though which also can feel like food poisoning so it was a long puzzle figuring out what I had!). Keep tabs around your migraines if this happens again. (BRAT) Bread, rice, apple and tea is the easiest on the stomach beginning with rice and tea.
My tastebuds have been so off lately, thanks to a six-day migraine and the longest, weirdest flu bout. I brewed up some Eight Candles but couldn’t finish it – it was too sweet for me today. I know, I know, I said that. Me, little miss addicted to sugar and candy. I couldn’t take it. So I opted for something minty and more plain. This is my tried and true, my go-to flavor. Love me some minty and gunpowder happiness.
This tastes kinda sugary too, which is odd. There is no sugar in it, and I don’t add any sugar to my teas. I rinsed out the mug after the Eight Candles. I guess things are tasting sugary as part of my tastebuds on hiatus? Weird, like I said, weirdo flu bout.
I thought I was going to die – seriously. I actually wished death on myself. I finally have most of the flu part gone, but the migraine is lingering. Unfun. Thanks for the well wishes!
I hope you feel better. The combo of a migraine and flu just made me shudder in fear. Get well soon!
Thanks guys! This flu was totally butt-kicking and not fun. UGH! Tea helps! And if I have to order more to cope, then it’s a health-related expense, right?! ;)
Backlog: I have just a couple bags left from the 2012 Christmas season. It’s always sad when I run out. I enjoyed one of these while watching my latest guilty pleasure, Amish Mafia. I find it hilarious – especially as someone who studies the “real” mafia. Anyway, this is a delightful cuppa, tastes like Christmas. Perfect for cold nights – and snowy afternoons. I may allow myself another one today when I get home from work, if there is snow again!
Still working on my sample-sized bag of this. It really does remind me of these amazing candy cane cookies one of my coworkers from my JCPenney retail days used to make. (Another coworker called them…“orgasmic” LOL) Not sure that I would use that term to describe this tea, but it’s pretty delish anyways!
I’m torn – is this my fave Della Terra Tea or is Eight Candles?! I can’t decide. Regardless, this is a cupboard essential. If you love cinnamon, this is your tea. I used to be able to stand Bigelow’s Cinnamon Stick, but after having this, I say, “Where is my cinnamon, b**ch!” ;)
The Pop Rocks just make it that much more, well, rockin’!
