37 Tasting Notes
So I’m starting to realize I should probably pair down the teas in my cupboard, so this one will be my first victim. Despite the fact that it is easily my favorite. Teaopia is gone so I won’t be able to refill this one. :(
I drove up to DAVIDS Tea today, set on getting myself one of those 24 days of tea sets. Unfortunately they were all sold out. :\ I’m debating doing an online order but I still haven’t figured out how I get stuff from my landlord.
Went back and bought a tin. Definitely tasting the ‘woodsy’ flavor that was advertised. It’s quite nice.
This one… well, I wouldn’t rate it as a fave but it’s not bad. I tried it hot at first with my standard milk + sugar and it was okay. I let it cool (got watching a movie – Brave – and largely forgot about my cup!) and had a few sips. It’d probably be better cold, to be honest.
So I’ve been thinking for awhile that I should make a run up to Davids Tea at Guildford because I accidentally left my pouch of Oh Canada behind when I went home for a week. :( Plus I’d heard about their Winter Collection and wanted to pick up something to try out! So in addition to this tea and 50g of Oh Canada, I picked up Organic Rootbeer Float and a tin of Second Flush Darjeeling since I really liked it!
This tea is quite cloudy when it’s steeping. It’s banana-y without being overpoweringly so. The chocolate isn’t super-bold, but that’s probably because of the white chocolate mellowing things out. I’d have to say I like it!
I don’t eat mushrooms so I don’t really get the woodsy notes from this one… but despite having a box of Tetley in my tea cupboard, this is the first straight tea I’ve had since getting into loose leaf tea in June. It’s a nice, smooth tea that… well, sort of reminds me of Tetley. I think I’ll probably be getting more of this one, since I just bought the $1 sample they had.
Preparation
There’s nothing better than having a lazy day off. The only way today could’ve been better was if my boyfriend was here. Unfortunately our relationship is currently long-distance, but hopefully we’ll fix that soon.
Anyway, about the tea; quite nice, actually. There’s a sort of familiar taste to it, but I can’t quite pin it down. This is another smooth one.
I also really like how all these teas seem to be different takes on an Earl Grey.
Are you able to get it delivered at work or to a trusted friend? That might make it easier.
That’s an idea… except now the 24 days of tea is sold out on DavidsTea’s website. :\
