81 Tasting Notes
I like this one a lot. It held up well with the addition of milk (cow’s, soy, or almond), didn’t really need sweetener, and worked well as a late. While I really enjoyed my 25g bag, and I’d like it to stick around, it doesn’t scream AWESOME – I’d prefer it to be a little more earthy in the tea base I think. Definitely one that I’ll grab another small bag of before it goes though.

Big fan. I find this white blend to be quite forgiving with steep times and temperatures. Love the blend of flavours – I find the fruity notes blend well with the delicate white rather than either being overwhelming. I’d like this one to stick around.

Definitely my new fave Maté! I’ve been waiting for Fruite Mate to be re-released for what seems like forever – so I’m really glad they came out with Main Squeeze! I love the green mate blended with the fruity notes. I love drinking this hot in the morning without sugar or anything – provides a wonderful boost to get through three hour seminars or essay writing binges. One of my favourites for sure, and Something I definitely refill on a regular basis. My steep times vary depending on the circumstance – at home I’ll steep it for a minute or three, if I have it in a travel mug though it tends to steep for longer and I add some agave. Either way, it’s excellent!

Love this. I’ve been waiting for another bamboo tea since blazing strawberries, and was so excited when this was released. Fantastic in a glass! Or a mug. Perfect iced, and also really good hot. I drank a lot of this over the summer – generally cold steeped. I find that you can’t really oversteep this at all – I’d keep a juice pitcher of this with the tea filter in, for a day or two and it was always super tasty. The fruity notes are balanced and don’t overpower the bamboo, the bamboo is wonderfully fresh. Just fantastic.

I’m going to be a bit of a black sheep here and be the first one to say that I’m really not a fan of the Ginseng Oolong. Even though I really wanted to be.
I had this as a hot cup to go. That may have been my problem – so I won’t write this one off completely at this point.
Drank it straight, and likely oversteeped with too hot water. I found that at the top of the sit it tasted like a good standard oolong, but it quickly took on this clinging sweetness that lingered long after the swallow. Weird sensation. I’m not used to sweetness with oolongs, so it really threw me off. As it continued steeping on my walk home, this became even more pronounced. I’d really like to try this again under different circumstances – shorter steep time, proper water temp, etc., to see if my experience improves.
I’m a little ambivalent about this one. I love the matcha, it makes great drinks and smoothies, but I find that it’s not as strong as the other matchas that David’s has. As a result, I had to add a LOT to get the desired strength of matcha flavor I prefer. Also, I like to be able to control the sweetness myself. All in all though, it’s pretty tasty.
By far one of my favorite chai teas. The black tea base is solid and earthy while the spices add wonderful layers to the overall profile of this tea. The ginger comes out as one of the stronger scents in the dry leaf. Steeped, the tea holds up fabulously to lots of milk. It did not get bitter astringent at all with a bit of an oversteeping. The ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom leave a wonderful spicy mouth feel, but are not overpowering. This is the chai that I’ve been hunting for, and will definitely be one of my staples during the fall and winter!
Preparation
I’ve had a few other blueberry teas in the past and was ever so slightly disappointed with them. David’s really hit it out of the park with this one. The black tea base complements the prominent flavours of the blueberries and elderberry really really well, and the stevia sweetens it slightly without being overpowering. I’ve been drinking this straight with no milk or sweetener, but I’m dying to try it just with some milk and then also as a latte. There was a little astringency by the time I made it to the bottom of the cup, and a light floral tone to the black tea…. but overall I am really really pleased with this one. Tastes like a bowl of fat sweet blueberries. Delicious!

SO GLAD THIS CAME BACK!!! I really love this fruit blend! It makes a fantastic iced tea without any sweeteners. I’ve been going through my tin and an alarming pace, so I’ll have to stock up again soon. The watermelon blends well with the other flavours and nothing is overpowering. I absolutely hate the taste of fake watermelon candies and such, so it was a relief to find that this doesn’t taste fake like that at all. I hope this one either sticks around, or comes back again for another seasonal rotation :)
