I consider this a tuition tea. Now I know I don’t really enjoy flavoured greens. I use it for iced tea. It’s alright. Firmly ‘eh’.

Second steep was better than the first! Had it plain. Gratifyingly dark, the earthiness brings to mind puer, almost. More so than other blacks I’ve had, but at the time of this review I haven’t delved into Chinese blacks.

This is nice! Drinking it with a splash of milk. Very easily could see it being a staple if I hadn’t already my morning black of choice. Malty & earthy. Very happy to have given it a whirl.

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 30 sec

(brewed western style) Nice warm weather tea. Note to self, buy this again sometime.

Love this tea! Great dependable cup that can take anything I throw at it, be it cinnamon, mint, ginger, fennel…whatever I can think of! (Almost. I wouldn’t put turmeric or cumin in it, I guess.) When I’m wanting an uncomplicated brisk brew at home to liven me up, this is my go to. When I’m looking for something to be a good base for masala chai, this is fantastic. Have used it in pot roast as well.

Definitely a fan, and I appreciate the price point too. There is nothing not to like. One tin, so many possibilities.

Relatively light black tea. Refreshing with the lemon. I prefer heartier/maltier blacks, but I wouldn’t turn a cup of this down.

I found this best black with a bit of honey. Despite the description, not really a winter tea.

Pretty good when iced. I’m glad I tried it, but probably wouldn’t purchase.

Fighting the after-lunch slump. Lovely, mild, soothing.

I have a lot to learn about tea. So far, I know that I love drinking it. Black tea with milk to wake me up in the morning, endless cups of green tea at Chinese restaurants with friends in the evening, spiced tea with sugar for an indulgence, herbal tea with honey to calm me down…TEA!

likes: vanilla, cinnamon, spices

less-liked: fruity teas, artificial additives (although I might be okay if I don’t know about them? I don’t know yet).

I’d like to blend my own tea someday, with essential oils and good quality plain tea and the like. The idea of my own earl grey or monk’s blend is really enticing.
