490 Tasting Notes
I really didn’t enjoy this tea. It tasted to me like sweetened artificial butter flavoring and smelled like pineapple. The combination was very unpleasant to me. I ended up throwing the rest of the box out.
Flavors: Artificial, Butter, Pineapple
Preparation
I really enjoy this tea. The spices aren’t very strong, but it has a lovely sweet orange flavor. It doesn’t taste artificial to me at all. I drink it plain, with chai spices, and in a variety of homemade blends, and enjoy it every time.
Flavors: Orange

I always keep Chamomile tea in my cupboard, and drink it most days. It has a mild, flowery flavor that is somewhat reminiscent of apples. It’s a very relaxing and comforting tea, and good for the digestion. I’m not overly picky about where my chamomile comes from (though some loose versions taste very strange, so be careful there), and Celestial Seasonings’ Chamomile is quite good.
Flavors: Apple, Floral
Preparation
This tea was not quite what I was hoping for. Celestial Seasonings has quite a pleasant Chamomile tea, but the apple flavor was very artificial. I’ve used this in a couple of homemade blends, and it’s better there. It was actually quite intriguing blended with Adagio’s Sour Apple. I’ll use this box, but I don’t think I’ll be buying more.
Flavors: Apple, Artificial, Floral
Preparation
This is the least pleasant tea I have ever tasted. It was at once bland, bitter, and burnt tasting. It had a strong flavor of cardomom (which I don’t really enjoy), and did not taste or smell at all of Coconut. I’m puzzled at the fact that some people seem to have had such a different experience of this tea.
Flavors: Bitter, Burnt, Cardamom, Smoke
Preparation
I’m a big fan of raspberries and raspberry flavored things, so I usually keep a box of this on hand. Raspberry pairs pretty well with Hibiscus, although I usually add a pinch of Xylitol for to bring out the flavor and counteract some of the tartness.
Flavors: Hibiscus, Raspberry, Tart
Preparation
I love Ginger, and Gingerbread. My mom’s gingerbread cookies were always one of my favorite parts of Christmas. I like this tea quite a bit, but I feel like it’s missing something on it’s own. I usually add some chai spices to it or use it in homemade blends. I’ll have to try it with milk some time.
Flavors: Ginger, Molasses, Spices
Preparation
I always keep Peppermint Tea in my cupboard, and drink a cup almost everyday. It’s a standard everyday tea for me. I’m not usually very picky about where I get it from, but I will probably buy primarily from Mountain Rose Herbs in the future. Their peppermint is both very cost effective (4 ounces is quite a lot of tea), and unlike most peppermint I’ve had, it doesn’t seem to become bitter if I leave it sitting in the cup after steeping.
Flavors: Mint, Peppermint
Preparation
I always keep peppermint tea in my cupboard, and I would definitely recommend that anyone new to herbal teas give it a try. It’s a solid, everyday sort of tea for me, and I’m not too picky about where I get it from. Celestial Seasonings is as good as anywhere else. Keep in mind that most brands of peppermint will get bitter if you oversteep it.
Flavors: Mint
Preparation
I think this is both my and my husband’s favorite tea by Celestial Seasonings. It has a very strong flavor of cinnamon and honey. It’s sweet and spicy and doesn’t need anything added to make a great cup of tea.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Honey
