This steeper is AMAZING!!! I use it for everything including bloom teas! The fine mesh holds back all the leaves which is amazing; the mesh ball I used to brew tea prior to buying this amazing steeper would let a few leaves pass into the cup and so I would end my tea with a mouthful of leaves(that’s never fun). Also, the look of awe you get when you use it around people is hilarious (although I am sure I had that very same look the first time I saw the tea magically drain out the bottom). Plus, it is the neat way to brew tea as I am a huge klutz and I tend to spill tea when I try pouring it out of my teapot. I would recommend this product to everyone because it is one of the best ways to brew tea!

drank Forever Nuts by DAVIDsTEA

Ever since I started with my tea obsession, I have been searching for that amazing caffeine-free tea I can enjoy at any time of the day. I have tried many teas (most of which come from either DAVIDs or Teavana) and although I have found many teas that I love, there is yet to be a caffeine-free tea that I have fallen in love with and simply must have. So yesterday when I was in DAVIDsTEA I asked the saleswoman what caffeine-free tea she suggested and so she handed me Forever Nuts.

Bringing home my new bag of teas, I was so excited to try each and everyone one of them. I tried a couple of other teas first as they were caffeinated and I worried about having them too late but now its time to try Forever Nuts. First thing I noticed is the pretty pink coloring as the tea brewed. Next I got a whiff of the amazing nutty scent with a hint of cinnamon. So far this tea is looking good, but what about the taste? I definitely can taste both the nuts and the apples! These flavors combine well to give the tea both a nutty flavor and a subtle sweetness. I smell the cinnamon far more than I actually taste it but nonetheless I think the flavors all marry quite nicely. I am not sure if it is the caffeine-free tea I have been dreaming about but it is definitely something I will be reaching for time and time again.

I was very excited when I bought this tea, so much so, that I didn’t realize how strong the rooibos tea smell was. When I went to make my first cup it really hit me as I was expecting more of a mint chocolaty scent. When I tried it for the first time, I noticed the rooibos taste is stronger in this tea than in some of the other DAVIDs rooibos teas (such as Oh Canada and Birthday Cake). It had a woodsy taste that ends with the taste of mint. I find if I think about it I can taste the mint chocolate flavor but when I am not focused I don’t really notice the chocolate at all (perhaps its a mind over matter situation). Ultimately, I like this tea enough to not regret purchasing it but I do not think I will be buying it again.

drank Lime Gelato by DAVIDsTEA

As much as I love DAVIDsTEA, I am usually a little disappointed because the teas smell amazing but the taste and scent never really seem to match. Luckily, Lime Gelato was no disappointment. It smells like key lime pie and tastes just like it smells. I am in love with this flavor and will definitely be buying it again!

you may also find you’ll like the lemon or lime chiffon from della terra if you’re later looking for non caffeine options

I was actually on Della Terra’s website and was really interested in trying both lemon chiffon and lime chiffon. I was planning on getting a few of the sampler boxes but next thing I knew I filled so many of the sampler boxes because of all the teas I wanted to try that the total scared me and I closed down the website to protect my wallet :P. Luckily Dexter is sending me a couple Della Terra teas to try so if I enjoy them I will probably be placing an order with the website soon.

Thank you for the suggestions though because I am always looking for good caffeine free options so that I have teas I can enjoy at any time of the day (since I tend to get disappointed in the evenings as most of my favorites tend to have caffeine).

Caffeine free if youwant flavoured teas Della terra: orange and cream, lime chiffon and then lemon chiffon in that order and from butiki the peppermint patty if you like mint chocolate. I’m not a fan of most of the other Della terra teas….for the time/effort/convenience David’s tea works for me as a similar shop. However the sampler packs from Della terra are good, always wait fora sale….

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

90-100 Teas I NEED on hand at all times
80-89 Teas I want to keep around for a cup every now and then

60-69 Teas I would not turn down a cup of from a friend but that would probably be enough
50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
