This new teashop and teahouse is owned and operated by a lovely young couple, both total tea enthusiasts. Their knowledge is extensive and they have travelled to many of the tea plantations that they stock and often deal directly with smaller, local distributors. Prices are reasonable, the selection is extremely fine, the tea is perfectly prepared, and the decor is a clean modern style in an older building. A great addition to downtown Hull and I hope they do well.

Passion, knowledge, and a fantastic variety of high quality teas. Their tastings and workshops are definitely worth it.

Each time I visited, I was served an excellent and well brewed tea. Their pastries aren’t bad at all either. Those who work there are unpretentious and knowledgeable. This tea house is really great, I highly recommend it to both tea connoisseurs and to those new to tea

Premièrement, cet endroit respire l’authenticité. On voit que les gens qui y travaillent vivent pour le thé, en parlent avec passion. Leur but est clairement de nous faire découvrir les théières, les différents types de thés. Il ne poussent pas à la vente, ils sont respectueux d’où on est rendus dans nos découvertes (et notre budget!!!). Leur salon de thé est calme et lumineux, tout le monde y semble à l’aise. Les thés que j’y ai goûté étaient généralement délicieux et leurs scones maison sont divins! Je me promets de découvrir toute leur gamme de thés et tisanes. Très belles théières yixing (à mémoire) et beaucoup de choix d’accessoires. C’est ma nouvelle destination de lecture à chaque semaine depuis plus de deux mois maintenant! Longue vie à CHAYI! :)

I just spent two hours there, enjoyed an exquisite Mi Lan Xiang Oolong in the traditional gong fu method which the staff member explained to me with great passion. The people working there are obviously tea affecionados, their selection is HUGE, so many loose-leaf varieties and herbal blends they create themselves. I highly recommend to any tea lovers to try out this place, its worth crossing the river to spend a memorable time there!
