34 Tasting Notes
Sipped this warm with milk before bed tonight. I went out for wonton soup and hunan beef with friends tonight then came home for some tea and TV. Currently watching Showtime’s The Affair (I love Ruth Wilson – she was amazing in Luther if you haven’t seen it). I have 3 episodes to watch until the season is complete.
Anyhow – this tea is a favourite bedtime treat. It is smooth, creamy and semi-sweet. I swear all of this pre-bed rooibos is making my skin glow ;) I add a bit more tea leaves to this pot and steep for longer than usual (I add 2 mins onto the recommended time)
Flavors: Cream, Rooibos, Smooth, Sweet, Vanilla
Preparation
A cozy, refreshing afternoon green tea. I love the taste of this ricey/salty tea for days when I feel like something warm but not heavy.
This is also really good for that 3pm afternoon wall I sometimes hit at work – or at home.
Flavors: Green, Nutty, Popcorn, Rice, Roasted, Salt, Salty
Preparation
This tea is growing on me – so much, in fact, that I purchased 100g – 1/2 to share with my SIL who is visiting from the Netherlands in a few months.
Today I started my day off with 3 cups of SF served hot with milk :)
Flavors: Fruity, Smooth, Strawberry, Sweet
Preparation
Another person with Dutch in-laws! :) I married a 2nd generation Dutch Canadian (meaning his Grandparents were born in the Netherlands) and he still has family who live there.
I’m 3rd generation Dutch Canadian :) Small world! My brother and SIL live in Maastricht right now. I’ve never been but am planning (excitedly) a trip to visit this summer – have you and your hubs been?
This was one of the first teas I bought while learning about DAVIDsTEA. I bought a 50g bag and came home to drink 3/4 of it before realizing that it is better as a tea latte. I forgot this while brewing my nightly pot this evening and just served it hot with milk and agave.
Birthday Cake is a sweet, dessert tea that is a calorie-friendly alternative to the mug of chocolate fudge brownie ice cream I planned on having ;)
This is a nice tea to have in my cupboard – a lot of people enjoy the smell, although I personally think it smells better than it tastes (even with sugar and milk).
Flavors: Cake, Cream, Honey, Smooth, Sweet
Preparation
Whenever I go to the mall (which isn’t too often) I always get a birthday cake latté as a little treat :)
Tea lattes are such a nice little pick-me-up! Every time I go to the mall I always spend $25 at DT and then don’t want to buy a $5 latte… I’m the worst.
This is my favourite tea from DAVIDsTEA – ever. If I could make this into a perfume/scent for my body, I would. If I could buy a shampoo or body wash that smelled like this – would.
I love the spice of the peppercorns, and the smoothness of the coconut and lemongrass. They announced they were retiring it 1 month after I had discovered the company. I ran and bought 250g which I am hoarding. I emailed them to express my disappointment and received a “better stock up then” email. Grr…
Once a week I enjoy this tea – hot or iced, weather depending. It’s the perfect hot tea for a rainy day or the perfect iced tea after a long run.
Tonight I served it hot – brewed a whole pot for myself and will spend the next few hours sipping and reading online.
Flavors: Artificial, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Citrus Fruits, Cloves, Coconut, Ginger, Honey, Lemon, Lemongrass, Orange, Pepper, Pineapple, Smooth, Spicy
Preparation
This tea is my favourite black tea from DAVIDsTEA. Creamy, smooth, and spicy.
I serve mine hot with milk and a 1/2 tsp. of agave. It also makes a great tea latte and is perfect for cozying up with a good book or blog :)
Flavors: Artificial, Butternut Squash, Cinnamon, Clove, Creamy, Smooth, Sweet
