5 Tasting Notes
Not Bad. Has the characteristic earthy taste of a pu’erh. The Tea brews a nice reddish black. The tea feels very smooth in the mouth and has no bitterness or astringency. My only complaint is the lack of depth of the flavor. No matter how strong you brew the tea, the flavor still lacks. A good tea for a quick fix. All in all, a decent tea, but nothing special.

Preparation
Got a tin of this in the store fairly recently. I brewed it according to instructions, and it was quite good. Very, very mild astringency. Produced a clear golden beige liquor. Has a light floral scent to it and a slightly milky and creamy taste reminiscent of a milk oolong, but more subtle. Also has a slightly tart after taste. However, it was too subtle and weak for my tastes. I upped the temperature to 190-195 degrees but kept the 4 minute steep time as i craved a slightly more bitter taste (I can be weird like that haha). The brew had the same color liquor Had almost the same taste (a bit stronger in every aspect) as the recommended 175 degree steep time but had that bitterness i craved.

Preparation
Got this for $8 at the local produce store a couple months ago. I didn’t expect too much from it due to the price. I brewed it according to what it said on the tin (5-7 minutes) and using the default 1 tsp of tea per cup, but it turned out way too strong for my tastes at even 5 minutes. The next time i brewed it I tried 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Perfect! The tea has a reddish black liquor and a very fragrant, complex aroma. Its fruity but bold taste is a nice complement to a hearty meal. It also has that unique muscatel finish that you would expect from a darjeeling. Only issue i had is its astringency (which you only really notice after a cup or so). Surprisingly delicious for such an inexpensive tea.
