4 Tasting Notes
So it turns out I have been under steeping mate based teas. I went 3 minutes previously.
That being said, I think MateVane is a killer app for blended sweetish teas mate.
Nice rich dark tincture topped off by a visible oil greeted me after pouring my cuppa.
The flavor notes of cocoa and a nutty note were predominant, and almost had a lactose sweetness to it. (sorta like a Milk Stout beer)
Over all delightful. I could drink a lot of this.
Preparation
This is my first Oolong. One of my tea drinkin’ friends gave me a small sample.
To me this has a very full mouthfeel. I tend to enjoy teas with such a mouthfeel so I was pleased. The flavor profile was dominated by a nutty note, that was surrounded by a bready note. Not a bit of astringency
I like this enough to drink it again. (And enough to explore oolong as a type of tea) I could drink this on days when the office is a bit too hectic to drink puer (with precisely timed infusions)
Preparation
I got this in the big online sale and I am pleased that I did.
I had been drinking various sheng puer teas for the last month so this was a nice change of pace.
For all the choco-notes in this while it is dry I really did not get that as the over riding taste. Instead, I was treated to notes of a nice blend of teas that were predominately nutty. The hazelnut really shines in this to me.
It may be heresy but I drink coffee as well as tea. This to me would only be a coffee killer to someone who hasn’t had a good cuppa in a very long while.
