Heady. Potent. Intense!!! are the three words I would use to describe this tea. My first sip of it, after steeping for almost six minutes, was so strong that I added some more hot water from my kettle. I also had to add a teaspoon of sugar because the oversteep brought out some bitterness.
So, after getting that settled, I tried it with and without milk. Either way, it is very minty and refreshing but less so with the milk, just creamier with the vanilla.
The fermented part, in cooperation with the mint, leaves a mild burning at the back of my throat after a sip and I can actually taste some sort of alcohol “depth” here, kindof like you would get in a cognac or other amber liquor.
The vanilla complements the mint nicely as well, rounding it out so that it starts and finishes with a pleasant sweetness. I am having trouble finding the cinnamon though. Next time I will be sure to see if there are any visible cinnamon bits in the bag. Oh and the liquorice! It’s very mild, hovering somewhere in the back. I notice it most right when I take a sip and the vapours from the tea are wafting about on my tongue. Nicely done, that part!!
Would I buy this again? I’m not sure. I do enjoy it, but it’s certainly not a favourite… though that is no fault of the tea, just my personal preference. Mint has never been my go to thing whether it be with tea or patties, unless I need it to soothe/cleanse for some reason.
If it was heavier on the liquorice and vanilla, and cinnamon then I would be more interested I think. The mint just takes over everything! I do however, enjoy the complexity of this tea. It has character and some serious attitude. On that note, I would give it a 95 or even higher, but then the mint overload drags it all the way down to where it is now *sighs
EDIT: Five point deduction because I am now incredibly nauseous. Maybe I should not have had this as a morning tea because I tend to get dehydrated easily, but even still it is an awful sensation! I tried drowning the nausea with two cups of water and it’s helped a bit. Next time I try the tea, I’ll use less tea and steep it for less time… but unless that is the trick I’m afraid this may be a write-off. Nothing is worth this feeling :s

I only had a sample of this in the store… but from what I did have, this tea is amazing!!!! it tasted like Thai food, which I LOVE. Spicy and sweet, slightly floral…
Very tempting to buy some…. mmmmm
Sorry I can’t say more. I really didn’t have time to suss out all the finer points. One day I will rewrite this review :)

This tastes like bees!! not just honey… but bees. and pollen. and honeycomb! :)
At first I thought, WOW this is the best tea EVER but now I’m not so sure. It’s great for a change… the fact that I couldn’t throw out the tea bag for lack of a garbage could be oversteeping it so I reserve the right to change this review later. Also, I added no sugar or milk so I’d like to see what either of those would bring to it!
I’m still mightily impressed. Just the smell alone is worth buying a cuppa :)

So… apparently I am on a strawberry kick now.
I needed a non caffeinated night-time treat while at the mall with some friends… (how highschool do I sound… sheesh, I’m almost thirty now!) and tea was waist-line friendlier than yogen-fruz so thus I ended up at teaopia for the second time today.
Anyhow, this one is definitely on the bottom rung out of the three strawberry teas I’ve tried… however still a decent tea overall.
The berry flavour is lacking, but then I am also having trouble finding the rooibos. Hrm actually, I do get some tartness, which could be confusing the red part for me. Also, I added milk to this, because I wasn’t getting the “cream” part either.
Atleast I didn’t need to add any sugar. and it does taste creamier than I expected with the milk. Maybe if i tried it again, added a smidge of sugar and no milk… and sat down to properly savour this one it would make a stronger impression with me. I would give it a second chance, but not at my expense!

I had a cuppa from the shop this morning…. and enjoyed it immensely! However, David’s strawberry white has set the bar out of reach on this one. If I had to compare the two, David’s would win hands down.
This tea is heavier on the strawberry. Without any sugar at all the sweet yet tart aroma and flavour is strong. The white tea takes more of a backseat but it’s nice for a change. I can imagine, like most tea’s I love, that it would be fantastic iced.
As for the finish/aftertaste… it has that same mild pleasant taste but has a slightly acrid lingering effect that I don’t see in David’s version- I suspect because the strawberry is less prominent.
Overall, I would buy this again… but only hot in a cup, not to take home with me- and that’s assuming I can’t get to a David’s :)
(errr, just in case that wasn’t clear!)
Also, bring breathmints… I needed them!

This tea is yum!!
It really tastes like an orange creamsicle. In fact I think it may be a little TOO sweet for me. The stevia overpowers the orange somewhat.
I also don’t get the usual scratchiness that I often find with green teas, nor the jittery caffeine buzzzzzzzzz, which is great for me.
One word of advice though, and I am sure it’s already obvious… but don’t buy this tea for the Green factor. I don’t get “green tea” from it at all. No top notes, no finish… the only green thing about it is in the name. A very simple flavour if you ask me. (and I love complex teas, just sayin’)
Would I buy it again? Maybe-but not for the purpose of tea drinking. I may save it for when the weather warms up and make ice cubes or popsicles… which would be a refreshing treat and diabetic friendly (not me, but I have family that is). OR… how about in a martini? yes I think that would be fun, assuming the alcohol doesn’t interact oddly with the stevia.
So for that purpose… maybe I would buy it again- but I wouldn’t be heartbroken if they discontinued this one either.
A mixed review, but then I have mixed feelings about it to!

I honestly expected to dislike this tea… and I was pleasantly surprised!
Ginger is typically a bad add to any sort of food for me, unless I’m sick, so I figured it would overpower my tastebuds and send them into hiding—but it didn’t!
The ginger works really well here, and brings out a sort of orangey, sweet flavour. Maybe it’s the oolong that gets me. The oolong base is nice but I’m having trouble finding it… it’s rather mild. Don’t buy this tea if you want something with a strong oolong flavour.
I have a few other teas with ginger in it but they taste very medicinal to me, and well one of them IS meant specifically to soothe a sore throat…
Anyhow, the finish is nice but quick, with an orange aftertaste, and a slight ginger burn. I didn’t add any sugar either, and it’s definitely sweet enough on it’s own but also has a mild tang to it.
I would buy this tea regardless of any health benefits, so the fact that it’s a fat blocker/metabolism booster is definitely a big bonus.
Overall, a great tea! One I am actually considering buying again, before I use up all my others… and that’s saying something

White Peony
I love this tea. Love love love! Or maybe it’s just “white” tea that I adore? It’s pretty much the strawberry white tea I reviewed last week, only without the strawberry and maybe a little bit heavier on the creaminess and not at all tart. I love that it tastes milky without any dairy product at all. The finish is great as well- slightly floral with that sweet dry aftertaste that lingers for awhile. Nothing beats the strawberry white of course.
Something I find odd though, is that I seem to prefer whites at room temperature. Sure, it’s great to have a nice hot cuppa’ but somehow the flavour really comes out for me once it’s cooled down.
I would definitely buy this tea again, if only it wasn’t so darned expensive! At double the price of most other teas, I only bought a ten gram sample. Boo! Oh well, when I finally try every other tea that I can get my hands on then I will splurge and grab me some more of this yummy stuff.

This is an interesting tea to be sure. The buttery part is a little to predominant for my liking here, and I don’t really taste the “rum” but I think I will try it without milk next time. Given that I like my black tea with milk, I doubt I will be purchasing this one again. It tasted a bit more tart than I would have liked as well which I found odd as that is usually a rooibos characteristic. Oh and the coconut? I could hardly taste that either. I wonder if I had tea from the bottom of a tin and got all the butter?? I’ll have to ask next time I go to David’s.
So, as it stands now, this is just an ok tea. I have so many other favourites that I have a feeling the last of this batch will go to waste- unless I add some rum. Ohhhh now there is an idea. The score for this one may be bumped once I try that!!!

This is an odd tea to be sure. Very earthy, almost a dirt texture. I added milk to cover some of it up. It reminds me of the burdock root that I used to recharge my liver back when I had some health issues. Hmmm. I’ll need to try this again to give a proper review. There is definitely more to it than “earthy” though. This is the only unflavoured pu’rer that I’ve tried so maybe I should check out another variety to compare.
