29 Tasting Notes
I am surprised more people are not as in love with this tea as I am! It is a heart-warming, chocolate treat, perfect for a cool afternoon. I actually like it better than the Read My Lips tea, though I love them both, and would never want to choose one over the other!
There is a note in this tea that totally reminds of of Werther’s Original candies. It is that buttery, toffee taste that is just so awesome. This tea stands up well to some milk and sugar, and is absolutely delightful. It makes me feel like I am having an amazing treat, but with a very small fraction of the calories of actually eating toffees.
I really wanted to like this tea, since it is so beautiful and fun looking, but I just did not! I found it not delicious enough, and something about it made me thirsty! Much prefer other David’s Teas such as Midsummer’s Night Dream and Exotica.
Wow – this tea is so amazing! I save it for after lunch, at a time I call “the best part of the day”. It really takes me through that tired bit in the afternoon when it is hard to stay motivated. You can really taste the strong cinnamon, but it is tempered by a richness that makes this a real treat. If this tea were a wine, it would be a Shiraz. Very full and “fat” as the Aussies would say. I put in milk and more sugar than I usually put in tea so it tastes like a proper Chai.
I am editing my original negative review. At first I was disappointed, since this did not taste like Pumpkin Pie, which is what I expected. But, I am changing my mind. Once I got over the initial disappointment, I found that this was something of a treat while I am watching what I am eating. It tastes a bit junky, like candy, with a fraction of the calories. I still like Saigon Chai better, but this tea has really grown on me.
This tea is minty and relaxing. It reminds me of the tea that I have had at spas when I had the time, before I had my son. Having it transports me back to a simpler, more relaxing time!
It is great for the bath, when I am winding down after a long day. It doesn’t have the knock-out, sleepifying effect that it does on the other reviewers for me, but I do find it a relaxing way to finish off the evening. I find it way better than the traditional chamomile and the minty taste is not too strong.
This tea is what got me back into teas in the first place. I was with my son at the mall buying my husband some Earl Grey and they gave me some. And pow! It hit me! It tastes spicy and warm, with a really big kick, perfect for a cold Canadian winter morning. It tastes to me exactly like cinnamon hearts, the really hot ones.
I brought some home and now have it every day at lunch. I am trying to watch what I eat, so this tea with little to no calories packs a whole lot of taste!
