drank Butterscotch by Art of Tea
7 tasting notes

I tried this tea at a tea shop in Corpus Christi, and I loved it. At home, it tastes just as wonderful as I remember. The taste of butterscotch candies is strong, but there is something very pure and natural about the tea, so that there is no fake quality about it.

The color of the tea is pale, but the taste is strong. The loose tea leaves are the most beautiful I have seen, stiff and silver-green, mixed with marigold petals and red berries. It looks as though it was mixed together just recently.

The container it came in has a metal stopper to preserve the freshness of the loose tea. It is well-made, and I will be able to use it again for other tea purchases.

On the whole, I am very impressed with this tea, and I am interested to try other teas from The Art of Tea.

I am unsure of the composition of this tea, but I am mostly sure that it is a true tea and not an infusion, despite the herbal overtones. It is a delicious, relaxing, aptly-named tea that conjures the scent and taste of the meadows of goddess Freyja’s Scandinavian homeland.

The tea leaves are short, spiky and pale in color, obviously a mixture of tea and herbs, but despite the pallor the tea brews strong with a remarkable flavor. The second and third steeps on previous occasions had the same flavors as the first.

The taste is refreshing and summery, like a summer meadow in Northern lands where the earth becomes warmed and alpine flowers spring forth.

I purchased the tea from Lotus Dreams, a beautiful tea shop in Corpus Christi, TX, that I hope to visit again one day.

drank Birthday Tea by Harney & Sons
7 tasting notes

I am on the second steep of my first tea bag of Birthday Tea.

The first thing I noticed about the tea was a dark blue color and a strong blueberry taste with additional herbal notes. I could not really taste the tea at all, and I felt it resembled more of a fruit and herbal infusion than tea.

On the second steep, the fruit notes are less prominent and the herbal notes more so. I had hoped that this tea would have some vanilla or cream flavoring to suggest birthday cake.

I have been drinking this tea for two days. It has been appealing to me greatly while I have a cold. I steep the loose leaves twice. Without containing sugar, the tea has a wonderful candy-like quality. I’m having it with Maria tea biscuits and salted nuts now.

I drank this tea today on my lunch break. I normally steep the tea bags 2-3×. The tea is fragrant, but the additional flavors don’t mask the flavor of the white tea. There is golden fluff that clings to the sachet strings and appears inside of the sachets. It smells good, but I haven’t figured out what it is yet.

Flavors: Floral, Rose, Vanilla, Vegetal

This is a robust tea without bitterness. I carry the tea bags in my work lunch and use the hot water spout from the coffee station to brew this tea. I use the tea bags twice, and don’t use cream or sugar.
