251 Tasting Notes
I can’t believe that I’m first again!! This is really, really nice. It reminds me a lot of the creme de mint Altoids. Kind of tastes like you made a cup of really good tea and put in creme de mint altoids to sweeten it. (I’m drinking it sweetened, I just prefer my tea that way.) As the tea base is a mix of gunpowder green and black tea, it can take the vanilla and the mint flavors and still come through.
I like this, and may order of a tin of it someday after I reduce my tea inventory somewhat.
This tastes a lot like coffee. (I think that Teavana tries to blend tea to taste like coffee to convert people.) The first time a tried it, I hated it. This time, I made sure the water was boiling and gave it a long time to infuse. That made it taste more like coffee. I added creamer since I like that in my coffee. I kind of like it this way. Maybe it will be a good sub for coffee.
Preparation
Not very strongly flavored, but I really liked it. It’s sort of scented rather than flavored with the carmel flavor. I kind of wish the tea had a more assertive flavor overall. I hadn’t tried this before (it’s a sample) and this wasn’t quite what I wanted for this afternoon. I’m probably going to try another infusion.
Did I mention that I ordered the sampler from Golden Moon? The one with a sample of every tea they carry? It comes in a really pretty box as well.
This tea is wonderful!! After it brews it smells like TEA. I think that when the aliens come to earth and ask about tea, this might be a good one to give them.
I had forgotten that this was in the cabinet!!! I needed something to warm me up, and this is doing the trick. (I know it’s not as cold here in Florida as it is in some other places, but I am not used to this weather!)
Nice summery strawberries and black tea. What’s not to like?
I’m not a huge fan of rooibos, I can’t drink it without some kind of flavoring, but this is one that I like. It has a nice peachy aroma and taste. The vanilla is nice as well, and is easily enhanced with my favorite liquid vanilla stevia from the local health food store.
