Just moved to Ann Arbor and I had to check out their Crazy Wisdom bookstore/teahouse. Just bought the Kakicha. Very light green tea similar to sencha, but not as sweet. Not sure if it’s the zen music they’re playing, but I’m enjoying it very much.

Sweet aroma, and a grassy flavor like most Sencha and Gyokuro teas. It has a nice green color. I think I might have steeped it for too long. I’ll have to try it again next time with maybe only 1-2 minutes.

I love Dragonwell from Teavana, but this one didn’t quite meet my expectations. It’s still good, but it doesn’t have the same sweet grassy quality.

Very similar to Monkey Picked Oolong from Teavana. I just recently made the switch to arbor teas b/c it’s based in my home state and they organic fair trade tea so I thought I’d support them! Light floral aroma and taste, but not too much. I only bought a sample, and I will definitely plan on getting more.

It’s plain. Nothing compared to Dragonwell or Sench Jade Reserve, but it’s not bad. I like to steep it for a little longer than 1 minute or it’s too light. It’s more similar to white tea than green tea.

Used about 1/2 of a teaspoon and added a drop of agave. It was perfect. I’m still working on my preparation technique to get it frothy and well mixed. Zig-zag motion apparently is the way to do it. I think it helps. When the matcha powder starts to settle I just move the bowl in a swishy motion. It mixes it up so I can finish it all up. Yumm.

The flavor is light. It’s very similar to Dragonwell green tea, but it the aroma is as sweet. It doesn’t have much of an aroma actually. I enjoyed it, but it’s nothing really special.

I added a few bits of german rock sugar and I think it did wonders. It doesn’t taste sweet, but it balances out the usual grassy flavor in the matcha.
I made a shake the other day with this matcha with dates, almonds and water and it was delicious.

Only oolong for me… so far. I’ve tried the Thai Mountain Oolong, but it’s a little to floral for me. Monkey Picked has a light floral aroma and the taste is perfect for breakfast.

I mixed this with about a teaspoon of silver yin pearls and it is absolutely delicious. The aroma is a sweet grassy smell. Gives me chills.
