5 Tasting Notes

I am forever grateful to you Henrietta for introducing me to Satemwa. I finally got a chance to sample this and I do agree it is a very good afternoon tea, if not, the best I’ve sampled so far. I took mine as is (without any milk and sugar). I also am so delighted with the estate’s philosophy and the fact that they give back to the community. I have been searching all over for full leaf teas from Africa and I’m excited to incorporate this into my da.u.de tea line.

Superior tea! Excellent farmer! Inspiring philosophy. I really am honestly excited.

Many thanks!

I totally understand why everyone is raving about this Rooibos. Personally I find red Rooibos bitter so I often choose green rooibos instead. However, every sip of this I can’t ignore the perfect balance of lemongrass. It actually makes me forget why I don’t typically drink red rooibos. I agree with what everybody says here. I love this tea!

Honestly, at first taste, it reminded me of medicine. But then after a few sips, I kinda started enjoying this tea. It does have a unique floral taste and I’m not sure if its the violets inside or the flavoring added. In any case, this tea is actually ok and I got used to it after awhile.

The aroma is really lovely and it does remind me of Tiramisu. If you drink this tea as is, you’ll get an average taste and I did read the prior posting about the flavors being confusing. I agree. But for me, I have to add a few drops of milk and sugar cubes and all of a sudden I get it.. the whole Tiramisu taste. The tea place that first served me this actually serves this tea with boba in it and iced. I love it. I taste the white chocolate, the red rooibos. Yumm.

I just joined Steepster and I have a good size cupboard right now full of teas from different companies and I decided to make this one my first tasting note. I remember standing at a Palo Alto tea house sniffing all the tea they have and I remember loving this tea’s aroma. It has a nice peach scent and I’m a sucker for that although that’s all I ever smell on this one. It brews to a nice color and the peach taste is light and pleasant. I never get tired of this tea. Good one.

I’m a designer and a tea fanatic. Recently extended my brand to include my signature teas as the final step to all the beauty rituals I created.

I focus solely on Afrasian (African, Asian) Blends on everything I do from fashion to cosmetics to teas.

Recently I’m more interested in fairly traded teas and will be revamping my blends to incorporate that philosophy.
