The last of my teas to review from my swap with Michelle – thank you!

The first sip of this feels a little watery tasting, but only the first sip. The color is dark and there is a distinct roasted coffee bean flavor and aroma. For some reason, lately I seem to like the bagged oolongs better than the loose leaf. Probably means I’m obviously not a connoisseur of such fancy teas. I tried an oolong from Yunnan Sourcing the other day and just couldn’t get into it.

Side note – the tag on this little tea bag is awfully cute! It has a bright yellow flower with red on the edges. Maybe a daisy? I don’t normally comment on tea bag tags, but this is one is really vibrant and fun.

This one makes a good travel tea, it won’t get bitter no matter how I try to over steep it :)

I don’t often take teas on the go because I never can seem to plan ahead, but I imagine a quick (good) bagged tea like this one might change that. I have an old Teavana tumbler with a strainer basket but hadn’t thought to throw a couple bags of tea in there for the road. I usually take everything in my bag and make a cup once I’m at work. I have so many tea bags in my tea cabinet, I probably need to play around and find some good ones for this once I’m back in the office.

Interesting, I didn’t even know clay-lined thermoses existed!

drank Earl Grey by Vinis Premium tea

- with milk and a spoonful of honey -
I’ve had this in my pantry for a very long time and I wasn’t sure why until I tried some recently. One of the worst teas I’ve ever had, not sure if it was this bad because it’s kind of old or if this is the reason I left it in the pantry for so long. Probably the second since I usually drink all of my earl grey tea very quickly.

I use this as iced tea. It is lovely. The best method is to cold brew in airtight cup overnight in fridge. I use a vacuum-sealed cup similar to the Yeti. Fill the cup up with water and place 2 tea bags in cup. Put sandwich baggie under lid to keep in flavor. Wnjoy next day. Or just boil water and brew for 3 mins pour over full cup of ice and fill rest with water. Still good this way. You can taste the jasmine. Really good.

This is my current everyday tea. Why? Because 1. it is inexpensive, 2. because it is white tea (one of my favorites). This tea has a great flavor. It is a leafy and dry tea. The taste of jasmine is not too strong to be detected. At first flavors seem a bit leafy but that gives way to a soft and gentle sweet taste.

Surprisingly, this is one of the tastiest white teas I’ve ever had! I cut open the bag and steep mine in an infuser. Also, I add some honey to my tea. In the end, it’s nice and crisp with /just/ the right amount of sweetness.
