drank Apple Cinnamon by Tim Hortons

One of the teas I brought back from Canada. This one is unbelievably good. The smell alone is just divine. Like a freshly baked cinnamon roll. Brewed at boiling for 5 minutes. On it’s own, it’s cinnamon forward but not offensively so. More like cinnamon spice oatmeal. A touch of sweetener however transforms it into something like cinnamon buns or an apple fritter donut. Would have never expected something this mouth wateringly good from a fast food chain.

I really liked this one too and it was also very surprising to me!

drank Honey Lemon by Tim Hortons

A sipdown! (M: 9, Y: 17) Prompt: A grocery store tea. Well not sure if it fills that prompt, as I am not sure if it is available in stores anywhere. But for some reason I feel that yes, it is available. Correct me if I am wrong.

Anyway, this tea I have received from Izzy (thanks!) back then and well, apparently it’s not in my virtual cupboard anymore as well. But it is a sipdown and I will count it as one.

However, I remember this tea better than it was. Both flavours were somehow medicinal and artificial, mostly the latter (of flavours and quality) and it was also somehow rough. Well, today I wasn’t fan and it seems I wasn’t even back then.

Another teabags received from Izzy (thanks!) and well, this was something I wasn’t really sure about. It evokes me Halls cough drops, which I like, but as flavour of the tea?

It is exactly that. Quite sour, very lemony. The honey isn’t there much present in taste, though a bit in a aroma. Interesting to find goldenrod in; never heard about that in tea. Still learning!

Anyway back to the tea. It’s okay. Not a something I would drink on daily basis, as it has got very acquired taste. It’ s very much similar to that cough drops I wrote earlier about. Now and then drinking seems okay for me though.

Tim Horton’s! How Canadian!

Martin Bednář

Yep, a glimpse of Canada in Central Europe :D I am not frequent FF chain customer, so I would probably miss it otherwise.
Shame I didn’t liked this one like the Apple Cinnamon.

Courtney

That’s very true. I used to drink the Apple Cinnamon at the very first university I went to many years ago — the science building had a wee Tim’s that we all frequented XD. The Honey Lemon I would only get when I was feeling under the weather. But, it has been many years now since I’ve had any Tim’s!

Martin Bednář

I am surprised that one get so bad rating. For me it was very tasty…
I wish having Tim’s nearby. Seems better than McD and KFC

Courtney

Perhaps one day you will have a Tim’s! Tim’s is certainly less expensive here, though I’ve never had a drink at KFC. I did, many years ago, have quite the fondness of McD’s coffee…

“What are you brewing that late (8 pm)?” my dad asked me.
“A black tea.” I have answered
“A black, you don’t plan going to bed?”
“It’s decaffeined. I don’t know, nor want to know how it’s made. They write they used ethyl acetate.”
“Oh… chemical. I wouldn’t drink that.”
“I will give it a try.”

It steeps super fast. I used boiling water and after two minutes it seems being brewed completely. It’s OP? Nah, it’s fannings. Just a dust. One of the smallest particles in. Not really looking forward.

Brew is copper. Pretty much common descriptor of blacks. But that smell. Blergh. Super tannic and somehow chemical as well. Burnt notes as well. Like the tea “leaves” were put in fire and took away. Not smoky!

The taste is very tannic (oh, how far-sighted doing short steep!) and pretty much bland. Pretty much expected. There isn’t autumn leaf pile note :D

Overall; glad to have another tea bag in collection. Tea is okay considering caffeine-free, but I will rather drink some fruit/rooibos blends than DECAF tea.

LuckyMe

I’m with you, I’d rather go for an herbal than decaf at night. Decaf anything tends to be subpar

Mastress Alita

I was surprised to try a decaf tea in my advent that was really good, because usually this is what I hear about them.

Lexie Aleah

I’ve had a couple of really good decaf teas from Harney & Sons.

Leafhopper

I’m not surprised that the decaf tea from Tim Hortons wasn’t great. They’re a big chain and probably don’t use the best teabags. I’d also rather have an herbal than a decaffeinated tea, though I’ve had a nice decaf vanilla chai from Stash.

Martin Bednář

I just wanted to give it a try LuckyMe, but this is just meh. There is nothing that invited me to a second cup.

Mastress Alita even I had few good decaf teas, but not this one.

Lexie Aleah good to know, maybe I will check them out… once.

Leafhopper yep, something like a Lipton teas. A big brand which don’t get a good and proper tea.

Another tea from Izzy, another SIPDOWN; and this tea a family-tea.

I got two bags, both used in our family pot of… unknown volume.

My mother loves this style of blend. For me, it depends. Sometimes they are great, sometimes they are okay. I haven’t got any bad one as I recall.

But to the Tim Hortons — a fastfood restaurant chain I never heard of before, are having their teas as well. Interesting that I am able to taste them and I am very grateful for that!

The tea, as another evening and caffeine-free blend, smells wonderfully, maybe on the sweet cinnamon side and with some cider notes there as well.

The taste is pretty strongly apple-like! I am impressed, as I was afraid being bland and weak, but it is quite strongly in red apple flavours! And that warming up cinnamon! And then, in behind, there are two remaining spices — nutmeg and allsipice.

It’s not watery at all! Hibiscus and rosehips, as typical representative in fruit teas are almost non-detecable for me. Yummy!

This tea is so comforting for me. It reminds me of all the times that I’ve spent with my friends hanging out at Tim Hortons. I always order it steeped with cream and sugar (my local Tim’s never has Almond Milk in stock.) It’s so delicious, sweet and creamy, just how I like it.
I buy the K-Cups at the grocery store and pour the loose tea into a coffee filter for my one cup Melita and steep it at home where I can add my Silk Almond Vanilla Coffee Creamer. Tastes like home! There is just something so familiar, nostalgic and sentimental about this tea. I will always order it and I will always love it!

This tea is comforting, pleasant, and an overall safe flavor profile. I tend to enjoy it at night with a book, when I am feeling sick, or as an after-dinner treat to fight off the sweet tooth.

It tastes exactly as you would imagine–slightly tart, slightly sweet, light, and fruity. It is very smooth. In my personal opinion, this tea is best taken with a spoonful of honey and made into a big mug. I only have one box and it came to me from my mother. I was meant to take it last Christmas break and forgot it by mistake, only to receive it when I visited my mother a few months later. So glad it finally made it’s way into my collection!

I believe this tea is best taken with a generous spoonful of honey and made into a big mug.

drank Green Tea by Tim Hortons
16 tasting notes

Tried this for the first time, was prepared by the Tim Horton employees. Someone needs to tell them not to use boiling water on green tea. Seriously. The water was extremely hot.

I was surprised how floral this tea smelled. That’s about the only compliment I can pay it. Overall it was musky and bitter, but it probably would have come out better if I had steeped it at home.

I ADORE this tea. Whenever I am feeling low I go to Tim Horton’s and get an extra large one. It is soothing and sweet enough. I am not a fan of apples but this is such a nice tea I look at it as a treat sometimes! Perfect to sit down with and read a book.

drank Chamomile by Tim Hortons

This is the first blend of chamomile I’ve ever tried, and it does the trick of making me feel reasonably better while tasting good at the same time! I have to double-bag it for my nerves though lol.

drank English Breakfast by Tim Hortons
12 tasting notes

This particular blend of English breakfast is really good although I highly doubt it’s genuinely English breakfast as all the ingredient list States is that it contains “black tea” lol. It’s quite sweet and comforting! I just don’t leave the bag in for very long as if it’s in for too long the tea ceases to have any flavour and just tastes burnt lol.

drank Apple Cinnamon by Tim Hortons

Oh my god, don’t even get me started on this tea. I tried it when I worked at Tim’s and it literally tastes like vomit! I felt sick throughout my shift after drinking this. It completely threw me off apples and cinnamon in tea, which I later discovered can taste good when blended and prepared properly. This tea is not a good blend at all, and timmies has some good tea compared to their coffee! Lol

its like they used 2 bags for this tea. xl, 2 sugars. ill probably try the peppermint next time. ill drink the rest of this, but wont get it again.

edit: by the time i finished this i had bumped my rating down further, but based on other notes i might try this again with milk or ceam.

4/29/17 got this double double, and its way better though getting it with cream is a bit much for me, going to try 2 milk, 2 sugars next time, and i think ill like it better still. this is something i could drink once in a while on the fly. bumped my rating up a little.

Crowkettle

That’s actually what they do (2 bags per pot). Timmies also “steeps” their Steeped Tea like coffee with a drip, resulting in a particularly bitter and concentrated brew. I need milk or cream to drink it too.

chefhifrequency

yeah its definitely the strength and bitterness that turned me off with this, but i feel like after i try it as a double double my rating might go up a bit.
