A sample from Heather at the Victoria Tea Meet.
Ooh, this is pretty good! The tea is incredibly strongly scented, so much so that I was hesitant to make it. The smell is really sweet chocolatey tea.
Steeped, it’s actually pretty good! This is an excellent use of a roasty toasty tea, giving the background flavour of fire roasted marshmallows. This is definitely an application of toasty teas that I believe in! My marshmallows didn’t dissolve, but the tea is sweet enough to not need any sugar to bring out the flavours. The chocolate is in the background here, but it does exist. It goes from roasty and nutty to sweet and a little chocolatey. I used half the sample I received, which was about 2 tsp in my (new!) 315ml pot.
If this tea was still around, I’d definitely buy it. Now to hunt around for a decent substitute!
(PS. I can’t have the Della Terra S’mores tea because there’s crushed graham crackers in it, and I cannot do gluten.)
Edit: Steep 2 with 1/4 tsp sugar. 5 minutes, only 12 oz water. Still really good. Much more chocolate flavour this time, possibly due to the sugar. I see where people get the hot chocolate ideas from!
Preparation
I snapped up a bunch of this when it went on sale when Teaopia was changing over to Teavana. It was 75% off, so I got a lot for a little, but I have been conservative with my use to not kill off the stash too soon.
I honestly didn’t even think that places would put actual cookies and stuff in flavoured teas. It’s something I need to be aware of for future swaps!
Heather, I totally understand why you snapped up a bunch. It’s good! I wish I had gone into Teaopia more often, because it seems like they had some gems.
They had a few I liked. Davids has aways been my main squeeze, but only a Teaopia/Teavana at the mall I work at, so I had to find some faves.
This tea may need some getting used to, taste wise, but it sure works much better to lose weight than Teavana Weight to go. Anyone know where you can still purchase this tea? I live in London, Ontario.
It’s baaaaaaack :P

This was a nice example of this type of blend with the grenadine being fairly mild and not to sweet and a more dominant cool vanilla that added creaminess and avoided the tendancies of vanilla flavouring tasting like alcohol, pancake syrup, or like candle scent. Like others have said it definitely has a jasmine element to the taste, that blended nicely with the vanilla. The ceylon base was heavier than I am accustomed with in this type of tea and was kind of biscuity/malty. This was a nice tea when I craved a vanilla flavoured black.
I enjoyed this tea but for some wierd reason the mix of grenadine and malt was bringing back memories of the Monaco beer cocktails (grenadine and lager) I had during a heat wave one spring in Montpellier, France (fabulous city just to hang out in and a gateway into a gorgeous region of France). Not that the tea tasted of beer but the mix of malt and soft sweet fruit echoed each other in both beverages.Made with steeps of around a minute I did not find this tea to be tart like others were finding. Instead I am getting a kind of strawberry shortcake type flavour, as the fruit mixes with the creaminess of the white tea. Having said that the fruity flavour doesn’t last through resteeps. Pleasant enough but not a must have, which is good as it is no longer available.
This tea isn’t the best tasting, but what can you expect, especially considering what this tea is supposed to do… With regards to the effects, for me, if I let a large ball of this tea steep for 7-10mins; the effects would take place in about 12-18hrs. and were… Very potent to say the least.
Great cleansing tea, tastes like crap, but that is apt. Highly recommended if you want an organic method of cleansing without taking pills!
Enjoying a day off work and a large mug of this! Thanks to tattooed_tea who so generously swapped this out of her cupboard!
Fireside S’mores is one of the few teas I was able to try before the Teavana-takeover. In my opinion its a nice, balanced mix of many things I like: marshmallows, chocolate and hazelnut – nothing really overpowers the other. And it’s not a strong tasting tea, which makes it kind of comforting on a chilly winter’s day. I enjoy this most as a latte with a little rock sugar.
I am saddened that this is no longer available, but feel very lucky to have a decent amount of this left. Thanks again tattooed_tea!
Preparation
Every time I have to read about the subprime mortgage financial crisis stuff I just completely shut off because it just seems so painfully stupid, bunch of dumb banks/nonbank financial institutions (I hate this phrase so much and I have to write it at least a couple times tomorrow NOOOOO)
This reminds me a lot of Tropicalia but not as flavorful and with green tea. It even has pretty similar candy hearts. With everything in this tea I was expecting some fruity mess, but I was pleasantly surprised. I tasted mostly coconut and pineapple, and the sencha added a nice change of flavor, so it wasn’t like being overpowered with sweetness.
I was also surprised it was really good hot. These are sort of the flavors I’d choose for iced tea, but it wasn’t bad at all hot!
Thanks, Kittenna!
Well, I don’t taste anything. I’m waiting and waiting for a flavor but it’s doing nothing for me. I only steeped it for 3 minutes, though that’s what the instructions say…3-4…wah.
It’s like maybe someone sprinkled graham cracker in watered down tea, but that’s about it.
Judging from some other notes, it seems this is common. Blah. I would try it again with more leaf and more time, but I want to move on to another type of tea.

We’re listening to James Bond themes now.
This is good, just not particularly exciting. There’s apple, there’s cinnamon. Ho hum. I generally like apple cinnamon herbals in the colder months because of the cider association, but this one doesn’t have all that much flavour. It’s pretty decent when mixed with Teaopia’s white pear though. But not something I’ll miss when it’s gone. If it’s ever gone!
Oh my goodness. Mint tea I have nothing against you but somehow no matter how many cups, there are always more! sheesh. You are getting old and less flavourful, and sharp. Please. please just disappear so you can be replaced by a young trophy(wife?) tea…
Well it also doesn’t help that I have another mint green in my cupboard, from Tea Emporium, only that one calls for half a tsp per cup. Even worse!
Also, Steepster isn’t showing my note from earlier. Well, it is on my wall, but not in the feed. How odd.
OK now I know I’ve written a note for this before. Steepster keeps eating my notes about green tea. Only the greens!!
Anyhow, I had two lovely infusions of this. Underleafed the cup a bit so couldn’t really go for a third. The mint was nice and vibrant, and much sweeter than I remember.Drank it hot this time, and it really hit the spot. Gonna miss this when it’s gone! I think I found yet another must have (mint green that is, not necessarily this one)
Rating: 87
Rachel, for some reason my browser insists haha. The little bar with smiley face just doesn’t show up when I submit a note from my laptop.
Well its a Rooibos, so what can I expect. It smells so good, very minty and a nice amount of chocolate. But of course once steeped it tastes lightly minty and mostly like Rooibos, I’m not getting any chocolate flavour.
Mission sip down is working. My stash is thinning out. (Haha mission… Sorry I’m watching Spy Kids 4 with my girls)
hmmmm…. Im not too sure about this one.
Tastes very similar to Banana Nut Bread from DT. But the thing Im having trouble with is that I cant taste the chocolate. All i can taste is the banana and the walnut. Anyway, I was hoping for more of a rich chocolate banana flavor. Regardless, it still tastes good. Not great. Its a nice fall tea but I don’t think I would re-purchase this.
Oh well its still a nice tea.
EDIT- Im not going to rate some of my teas. Mostly because I cant decide on where the rating will stand. And especially with this one I am really not sure how much I like it.
Way to be on the dedication haha. I haven’t tried this one. Would you say it’s better than Della Terra’s?
I can’t have Della Terra’s because of the cookies. :)
Oh yeah! Derrrrr, sorry. I read this one’s taste doesn’t live up to its awesome smell.
I’d definitely like it better if it were more black tea and maybe a little smoky stuff mixed in. But otherwise I like the flavours. :) I was thinking if mixing my own, but idk what to do about the graham crackers. Rooibos I guess? And where do I find eensy weensy marshmallows? :)

Nuts.com is EVIL. There is so much to choose from, and all of their stuff is very fresh.
Oh. My. God.
I can’t figure out shipping to Canada. They do it, but do I need to fill out a cart to find out how much? (OMG, 1lb of mini marshmallows!!!)
I don’t remember how much it is to ship out one thing. I’m worried it would be like $15+. I’ve made a couple orders so far but usually make it worthwhile and order like $120+ worth of stuff. Shipping would then come to around $26 but if you break it down, it evens out since you’re getting a lot of stuff and everything’s reasonably priced.
Too bad their prices for freeze dried things are so high. Or else I could buy ALL the Christmas presents.
The shipping costs deterred me from Nuts, so I went with www.upayanaturals.com. Unfortunately, free shipping in Canada only clicks in at $100 (however my order got here in two days).
Thanks, MissB! :) The $27.95 shipping made me close the site.
Hmm. They’re more random organic and natural fancy pants stuff. And unfortunately for them, a lot of the prices I saw in my quick scroll through are higher than Whole Paycheque Foods.
Ha! I’ve yet to go to whole paycheck. I’m sure when the one opens up at Brentwood, I’ll make the trek. If the prices are that high though, well… boooo.
I go downtown a lot, and usually go to the tiny one on Robson near Denman. Today I got lemons the size of ORANGES. So fun. :D Oh, and the one on Cambie has loose leaf teas. Or had as of a couple months ago. A really decent silver needle for SUPER cheap.
I think Megan, in PF has some left. I think that she got a lot when she worked there during the transition. You might ask her.
Hmm. I could, or I could have loads of fun making my own blend. :D I think I can order the marshmallows through Amazon, and then I get a HUGE amount of them. Whee, mini dried marshmallows!
