This most forgettable flavour of Tea Drop, and in a way doesn’t that kind of make it the worst one because it just wasn’t able to form a lasting impression? Like, I drank a full mug of it and I don’t think I could tell you anything about it aside from the fact it had the same two characteristics all of the other Tea Drop flavours had: it became sludge in the bottom of the mug and it tasted basically like a lightly flavoured sugar water…
This one was… fine!?
I mean, I didn’t hate it or find it undrinkable but it was DEFINITELY the worst culprit in terms of gritty sludge-y particles left at the bottom of the cup from the melted drop. Plus, it literally just tasted like weak/watered down fruity sugar water. So bad? No, but not interesting AT ALL either.
This was the best flavour of Tea Drop from the sampler, and the only one that I would voluntarily drink again – however it would probably only be as a “sick” tea.
Interestingly, I thought it was the least sludgy of all the drop and it was a nice sweet, hot lemonade type flavour with an undertone of ginger. Very warming and nice on my throat, and not a terrible flavour (also not particularly good though). The “instant” feature of the tea drop makes a lot of sense to me as well as a good benefit for when you’re too tired and sick to make something more fussy or that requires a lot of clean up.
This was the worst flavour ‘Tea Drop’ that I tried…
I wasn’t sure if I’d like it, because I enjoy rose but not bergamot, but it was firmly on the “nope” end of the spectrum for me. Like all the tea drops, the compressed drop.sugar cube melts into a gritty sludge at the bottom of the mug that’s undrinkable. However, in addition to tasting like sugar water this one was also really artificial and soapy tasting – really chemical/perfumey rose and bergamot combination.
Didn’t finish the mug.
I know someone who got a sampler of five different varieties of “Tea Drops” and they shared one of each with me so I could get in some quick tastings and add a few new teas to my memory bank…
I personally hate the concept of these tea drops; it just looks like low quality tea mixed with way too much sugar. However, I also see where the demand/interest would be on a consumer level and why people would have an interest in this product.
Of the five flavours, I thought this was one of the better ones – but it still wasn’t great. The tea in the ‘drop’ isn’t soluble and the grind is rougher so much of it becomes a sludge on the bottom of your mug and you’re sort of just left with a minty sugar water. It’s drinkable, but I’d never go back in for another mug of it.
Flavors: Candy, Mint, Peppermint, Spearmint
I bought these on Amazon a while back and then forgot about them for a long time. I’m trying to finish them up because I still have 10 sipdowns to go this month and only 9 days to get there haha
This comes in a flower shape as a condensed “drop it in hot water” sugar cube. I am drinking it with vanilla soy milk, making it too sweet overall but still delicious. I also appreciate that the company is all fair trade and donates money to clean drinking water in less prosperous countries.
It is advisable to dissolve it in a little bit of hot water before adding the rest of the water or any milk. Otherwise it likes to sit at the bottom and may not dissolve if your water isn’t boiling. It has a strong black tea flavor and some bergamot. I get the floral rose in the aftertaste which is perfect with the milk and vanilla. Sometimes I encounter a stray (tiny) gritty piece of rose petal or tea leaf, but it isn’t taking away from the experience for me.
If you are curious about these instant teas/tea drops, I found the sampler on Amazon.com or Amazon.ca (can’t remember which) and it comes with 5 different flavours. They might be a bit of a novelty, but the tea is good and suits a traditional English method (sweetener and milk).
Flavors: Bergamot, Earl Grey, Floral, Rose, Sugarcane, Sweet

I just got some of these from someone as a late christmas gift. This is the only one I’ve tried so far. I’m a bit confused on what sampler I have since the brochure only lists some of the shapes/flavors I see. The label on the bottom on the other hand has many more flavors not listed in my brochure.
cardamom is my favorite spice in tea so I was very excited to try this tea from Tea Drops. The tea is actually very nice. It is sweetened already but not too sweet, it was really a lovely cuppa. The cardamom was very strong and that is what I wanted and I love the ease of making this. I do find that I toss out the last sip in the bottom of the cup as I don’t enjoy the sediment at the bottom. Also, they are expensive, $1.20 for each cup. Overall I really liked this!

Backlog:
I really like the Teadrops that I’ve tried from My Teadrops.
This is one of the strongest white teas that I’ve tasted, and I’m sure that’s because I’m drinking the whole leaf here that’s been finely ground into a powder. The vanilla notes are soft and creamy. There’s a nice balance between tea and vanilla with this cup.
I wish it wasn’t sweetened, but, I didn’t find it to be overly sweet. There is some sediment at the bottom of the cup when you reach it, so I recommend to stop consuming the beverage once you reach about 1/2 to 1/4 inch to the bottom of the cup. Once you get to that point, stop drinking as I did … and I didn’t get any sediment in my mouth. (I prefer to drink the liquid, not eat the leaf.)
I love this company though, they are very nice and offer excellent customer service and they really believe in their product. It’s the kind of company I like to deal with. I also love that they considered my advice to them and they are now offering their teas in refill sizes in addition to their beautifully crafted wooden box, so that returning customers can get better pricing on their follow-up purchases. I love it when companies listen.

@mrmopar agreed! I love it when a company listens to what a customer has to say. And I love the way this company approaches me as a customer, I don’t feel like … I’m being “handled” … you know what I’m talking about? I’m treated like a friend, and I like that.
I had a rather unusual day thus far. We are typically (my husband and I) night owls, so my day starts out a bit later than those who are less night owlish. However, I was unexpectedly awakened today and a favor was needed of me by a family member, so I got up earlier than usual and so, when I had completed the task, I went back to bed for a nap because my sleep time had been interrupted.
As a result, I ended up starting my day later than usual today and as a result, I’m feeling a caffeine withdrawal headache. I think I found a reason why I need to keep these teadrops around! They would be ideal for travel (and way better than anything that most hotels have waiting for you in their tea and coffee hospitality basket), but since I’m not big on traveling and since I’m an at-home mom, convenience is not something that I look for when it comes to tea.
But, these are GREAT for a next-to-instant caffeine fix. All you need is the time it takes to heat the water, and then you have TEA. And it tastes infinitely better than anything from those Kcups (which I hate … ugh.) This tea is actually good.
This product does have it’s “cons” but, overall, I really like this product, and I like that I it allows me to get a quick fix for my caffeine addiction. Which … that’s why we’re all here, right? We’re all addicted to caffeine and of course, Camellia Sinensis!
Sitting here, enjoying a cup of this tea. I really like these tea drops. They have a really robust cardamom flavor but a good balance has been achieved between tea and cardamom.
As I’ve said before, I guess the only thing I wish these tea drops didn’t have was the sweetener, but they aren’t overly sweet, in my opinion, so even that works, although I’d prefer to decide if I wanted it sweet or not.
Still yummy though.
I am enjoying a cup of this tea now. I’ve had these teadrops a couple of times now, and overall, they’re pretty good. I also want to say that I love the company. They are very nice. That is always a big plus in my book.
The aroma is amazing. I love the smell of cardamom, and I have to say that Teadrops did the cardamom well. There’s a delicious, spicy flavor to it, but there isn’t too much cardamom to this. I can even taste that hint of citrus to the cardamom. Nice.
The tea itself is a satisfying black tea. It has a good flavor to it. It doesn’t taste like a dust/fannings sort of nasty tea that you’d find in the supermarket. It tastes like a good quality tea that has been turned into a teadrop.
I do have a couple of issues (as I point out in my full-length review of this tea, you can check that out here: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/01/24/product-review-cardamom-spice-teadrops/ ) :
1. I’m not crazy about the fact that it’s pre-sweetened. I like to decide if I want sweetener or not. Typically with a spiced tea like this one, I would add a little bit of raw sugar to it because I think that the spices need a little bit of sugar to really pop. But I guess I like to decide how much sugar goes into the cup and not have that decided for me.
2. There is some undissolved sediment at the bottom of the cup when you get there. I resolve this by stopping when I’m down to the last 1/2 inch of tea at the bottom. I don’t get any sediment in the sip before that point, and so, the tea above the approximate 1/2 inch to the bottom is good stuff.
It’s pretty good, and goes nicely with breakfast. Yes … I’m having breakfast now. I just woke up a couple of hours ago. I find that if I stay up late, then I sleep through morning. And since I’m not a morning person … this works well for me.
I just received my first order of Tea Drops.
I rarely put sugar in my tea unless it’s chai. So I ordered the cardamom drops. I can tell there is sugar in it but it’s not overly sweet. And thankfully not an artificial sweetner! So by the recommended suggestion by the founder Sashee Chandran I added a little milk and that helped balance out the sweetness and was a nice calming chai which I quite enjoyed! The box is very cute and I will come up with something to reuse it for. I will reorder Tea Drops are something I would like to keep around. And I loved the hand written card that came with my order by the founder!
So I received my teadrops and my daughter received hers that I sent as a gift. The packaging was great-comes in a little wooden box that holds 8 individual star shaped teas. She loves tea and loves trying all flavors. She is really on the go (teacher at an outdoor science school so spends her whole day outside) She was thrilled with how easy it was to use and just added it to her go cup along with boiling water. She loved the cardamon flavor and wasn’t put off by the sediments at the bottom of the container. I too, thought the packaging was wonderful. I love cardamon so I enjoyed the tea flavor. I added a splash of milk and a drop of stevia. I used a mug so occasionally stirred my tea and did still end up with some sediments but it doesn’t bother me (I drink french press coffee so am use to sediments on the bottom of my cup). This really does make a nice gift for a tea drinking friend or as a sweet gift to yourself. If you are into the whole tea process and meditative steeping this may not be “your cup of tea” but it is a fun, novel approach to tea.
Preparation
This tea is a real treat. The taste is robust and musty, and the bitterness is laced with this fabulous caramel taste that comes out so subtly that I find myself confused about what the heck I am drinking. Plus, you can re-infuse the leaves 4-5 times, which helps since I can’t buy it online and would have to drive down to Kansas City if I wanted more. I am going to enjoy this tea love affair even more since it is temporary!
This is one of two teas I bought from Tea Drops in Kansas City. I took a whiff of this sample and the caramel smelled so fantastic I took a leap of faith and got 2oz after asking the woman’s opinion of it. She was honest and said she didn’t like it because it was too much like coffee, and that if I liked coffee I might like it. She also said that this was originally just a temporary tea for Christmas time but due to popular demand, they made it permanent.
I just brewed myself a cup, with a 1/2 tsp of rock sugar and it is fabulous. I haven’t tried many pu-erhs in my day, but the employee was absolutely right – this tastes like slightly sweetened black coffee with hints of caramel. This being said, it is bitter and full-bodied, and the caramel adds just the right amount of interest to this coffee-flavor. I will miss this tea when it’s gone, but I think my next cup I will add a bit more sugar and maybe a splash of milk. Bravo tea drops!
I had a cup-o-this tea at a tea shop I stumbled across while exploring Kansas City yesterday. The woman behind the counter said that it was her favorite, so I had to try it. The vanilla was rich and creamy, and the black tea was strong and smoky. Very nice. Too bad the only way you can get it is to go to Missouri!
I’m cautiously optimistic about this one it seems to have some yeasty sweetness in there but very unforgiving to brew which is strange for a Shu.
Upped my rating—once you get the steeps right they are yeasty sweet and have some mild astringency.
Preparation
Had a pot of this hen I was out for lunch today. The people at The Groove Train actually put the teabag into e pot of hot water for me! Wow! A lot of times they don’t, despite the fact that I.am.paying.THEM.to.serve.me.tea. WTF.
But I digress.
This is quite a nice chai, heavy on the clovey, star anisey side, a little light on the tea side. I quite often order it when I’m out though, because it’s a good, though predictable, non-powdered chai option.
Hmmm, green tea with apricot flavouring and buits of dried honeydew melon. Served quite presumpively with no sugar on the side, so I drank it sugarless, it could have used a touch.
The apricot flavour was great before the water was added but disappeared in the brew. The underlying green was a little bitter, the melon covered it up. Not a bad effort for a silk baggy thing
I won an Instagram competition for tea drops back in November and they haven’t sent them out yet so this company isn’t doing great in my eyes right now.
Tbh, I don’t think you’re missing out on much. But that’s still shitty.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt this way about Tea Drops. I expected more because of the great reviews on their site and people blogging about the teas, but to me they all tasted like someone trying to cover up the not-so-great flavor of low quality tea and/or poorly brewed tea by burying it in sugar. If this is what they call “lightly sweetened” then I’m afraid to know what heavily sweetened would be like.
