I’ve noticed that over the past year or so, my iced tea consumption has increased significantly. I used to only drink iced tea during the hottest months of the year, and when it wasn’t the hottest months of the year, the iced tea pitcher got stashed back into the cupboard. But now, I keep a pitcher of iced tea in the fridge at all times. I like having something cold to drink in the fridge and since I don’t drink soda, that’s out. I drink water but I sometimes want something other than water and when that happens, I pull out the iced tea pitcher and enjoy a glass of iced tea.

And usually, it’s a SBT tea that I’m drinking because I love the convenience of the large tea sachet. It makes it easy to brew and especially to cold brew. I usually prefer loose leaf but when it comes to iced tea, I find myself wanting more convenience.

All that said … this isn’t my favorite green tea offering from SBT. But it IS tasty. With my first glass, I had trouble identifying flavors until I reached the end of the glass. Then I poured myself a second glass and I could really taste the strawberry and kiwi. The strawberry is more prominent than the kiwi and the green tea is soft and buttery.

Tasty and refreshing.

Sweet and refreshing. I like the green tea base because it’s lighter and I like the way the buttery notes of the green tea meld with the sweet, sugary cotton candy flavors. This pitcher of iced tea disappeared quickly. I also really like that the green teas from SBT are resteepable – I get a full gallon of well-developed flavors – no watered down tastes.

I enjoyed this one. I won’t say it was my favorite iced tea from SBT, but it’s a good one and one I had no trouble finishing the pitcher and one I wouldn’t mind having again on occasion.

This does not taste like those holiday, spicy-hot, cinnamon red-hot candies with orange flavoring type of teas. This is sweet with notes of savory from the cinnamon, but it’s not overly spicy. The orange is bright, and the honeybush has its natural nutty tones which brings out some of the natural earthy notes of the cinnamon. It’s a harmonious, refreshing glass of iced tea.

Yummy. This is one of the teas that changed my mind about iced chocolate flavored iced teas. I was skeptical of them before trying this because … hey, I love chocolate, you know that, but I wasn’t sure how well the chocolate flavors would translate to an iced beverage. I mean, it works great for a hot cup of tea but I wasn’t sure about an iced tea. But this is so yum. One of my favorite honeybush blends from SBT.

I liked this flavor combination. The blueberry is the strongest flavor and it’s sweet but also a little tart. It’s not too sour and it didn’t cause me to pucker but there was just enough tart to add some contrast to the sweet banana notes. I also got that tingly “tart” note in the aftertaste.

What surprised me is the banana flavor. Usually when I taste one of Zoomdweebies’ banana teas, it’s that sweet, candy-like banana flavor (which makes it really weird to me that I actually like their banana flavored teas because I dislike banana candies.) But this doesn’t have that too sweet, banana candy-ish flavor. Maybe it’s the blueberry in the blend that counters that sometimes overly sweet flavor.

Anyway … I like this blend. It’s a tasty blend of flavors and the black tea notes are not obscured. A refreshing iced tea.

I think that this was one of my first (if not the first) honeybush iced tea that I tried from SBT. Since then I’ve tried several others and have really come around to embrace the iced honeybush teas.

This one is yummy. Very refreshing. Not exactly what I would have expected to say about a tea that is “cinnamon roll” flavored. The honeybush works well with these flavors. The natural nutty tones as well as the sweetness of the honeybush lends a sort of bready/doughy flavor that enhances the “pastry” flavor and the butter notes of the flavoring elevate that even more.

The cinnamon is sweet, not too spicy cinnamon. It doesn’t taste like a candied cinnamon. It’s more like the stuff you’d sprinkle on your morning toast (or … like what you’d taste in a cinnamon roll.) There isn’t a heavy “icing” flavor to this, instead, I get a light creamy vanilla tone. It’s more like a “light” version of a cinnamon roll, not like the ones you’ll get in the mall that are over-slathered with the icing.

My daughters really enjoyed this one too.

Kittenna

I enjoyed cold-brewing the regular Cinnamon Roll HB – I imagine it would be similar?

LiberTEAS

I imagine so. I didn’t try the regular cold brewed … and I hot brewed this SBT version. But this was really tasty.

This is a really good iced tea – but then, citrus and black tea just seem to go together. And there is definitely a big blast of citrus flavor in this, but I like that I taste more black tea than citrus. Or at least an equal amount.

Not overly tart, not too sweet. Lime is the most prominent citrus note I tasted, but I also tasted hints of lemon and orange as well as a slight grapefruit like taste.

This tea disappeared from my iced tea pitcher really quickly.

A good balance of chocolate, mint and black tea flavors. I find the chocolate notes to be a tad fake tasting. This was remedied with the addition of a little sugar. Without the sweetener, it tastes alright but the chocolate is off. The sugar helps.

But the tea is already on the sweet side so you want to sweeten cautiously.

It isn’t a bad tea, the chocolate is a wee bit off but it’s not enough to make me toss it out. I liked it, but this wasn’t my favorite from SBT.

I posted my second tasting note about this tea before I posted this tasting note which is actually should be my first tasting note. I’ve had two pouches of this tea, the first I hot brewed and I managed 2 half-gallon pitchers out of that (and the second pitcher was almost as flavorful as the first. Very little discernible loss in flavor!) The second pouch I first cold-steeped to see how that would fair and then hot brewed it for the second pitcher.

This is really good. Lots of berry flavor but the green tea doesn’t hide behind the flavors. It’s smooth, sweet, and there is some berry tartness but not too much. A very refreshing iced tea.

This is my second pitcher of this tea. Well, no, this is my third pitcher of this tea. This is my second pouch of this tea. I brewed the first pouch back in August (but I’m still quite behind on my posting!) and it was good for a gallon of delicious iced tea – hot brewed. I ordered a second pouch so that I could experiment a little bit and try it cold brewed – which is what i’m drinking now. It works well as a cold-brew too, although the flavor is not quite as intense as I remember from the first hot brew.

Here’s the link to my review of my first two pitchers of this iced tea: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/08/21/wildberries-flavored-green-iced-tea-from-southern-boy-teas/

I like it as a cold-brew and I am thinking that by cold-brewing this the first time, I may get three pitchers of iced tea out of the one pouch. That would be awesome. I really like this flavor a lot, very berry-licious, but not so over-flavored that I’m missing out on the green tea flavor.

A really tasty iced tea.

Weird!

But I like it. Although I have to be honest, when I was preparing it last night, I wasn’t so sure that I’d like it. When I opened the pouch – oh my goodness – it was GARLIC. It smelled like I just opened the oven and inside was a halved loaf of French Bread that had been slathered with garlic butter and toasted until it was golden brown. So, as I was making the tea all I could think of was: This is so weird. This is not an odor I ever imagined smelling as I was making iced tea.

OK, that wasn’t the only thought I was having. My other thought was: I’m going to have to run a “cleaning cycle” on my Breville after I finish making this because I don’t want any residual odors/essences to latch themselves onto my next cup of tea.

Hmm … chocolate covered garlic?

OK … anyway, that was last night. Today, I’m drinking a glass of Garlic Toast flavored iced tea. And, yes, it’s weird, but it’s also … good. Believe it or not. I like the savory element of the garlic. I like that zesty garlic flavor. It highlights the black tea in a different way where I am exploring more of the sweet elements of the black tea because of how well they contrast with the sharp heat of the garlic.

And the garlic is not a heavy or overwhelming flavor. It is THERE and not hiding behind the tea at all, but there is more tea taste to this than garlic. I am drinking garlic flavored tea … not tea drowning in garlic essence.

Weird. Yes. But weird in a very interesting, unusual, and ultimately, tasty way.

That sounds like an interesting tea.

HI GUYS totally did not mean to vanish, trying to decide if I risk going on Steepster at work because that’s where I’m doing all my tea drinking.

Especially since I had to go to the ER last week after I became allergic to the antibiotic I was taking out of nowhere, and my heart went crazy for a bit there. I’m afraid to drink coffee, hell, I was afraid to drink any non herbal teas until this week.

Anyway I’ve got a list of things to log but I didn’t add this on there since I was drinking it at home about two weeks ago.

I really would like to see this or something similar as a hot tea, because it honestly sounds like something that’d be better hot.

It is a bit busy though, I didn’t get too much pumpkin compared to chocolate and vanilla. All the flavors are present, that’s for sure, I just was drawn to it more for the pumpkin pie aspect.

I ended up not finishing the whole pitcher since two days later the whole allergy debacle went down, but I don’t think I’m in a hurry to try it again. It was good, but for me personally it just doesn’t suit iced tea.

caile

That must have been frightening – glad you’re OK!

I really liked this iced tea flavor. I believe I may have passed some of it along to my daughter who also loved it.

The mango flavor is strong. Notes of cream to create the “sherbet” flavor and I like the way this flavor melds with the natural malty tones of the black tea. It’s quite a delicious combination.

Ashmanra’s sipdown challenge – March 2024 Tea #6 – Your tea with the longest name

Thinking of a tea with a long name, I thought of this one which always made me laugh at how absolutely specific and long the name is.  So I’m glad to finish it for this prompt today.  A touch of flavor remains in this old tea, but it was never my favorite to begin with.

Thank you for the sale CHAroma! I actually hot brewed a teaspoon of this one on this fine warm, windy day. Warm windy days are my favorite. Anyway, I figured this one promised too much. Haha. Using water around ten minutes after boiling and steeping for 85 seconds, the flavor isn’t much. The dry leaves actually have a spicy fragrance and that is the most noticeable in the flavor. Maybe a hint of squash/pumpkin. The second steep actually seemed like chocolate syrup somehow along with the spicy, so I’m probably steeping it terribly. It’s very odd that it tastes like spices without actually having spices. Not so much vanilla. A caffeine kick for some power reading outdoors.

Just picked this up – glad to see another favourable review :)

I bought this tea off the early kickstarter for SBT. I served it at my Thanksgiving party and it was a HUGE hit!

The rainbow sherbet flavor is dead on – it has that lime/orange/red taste is just like in the ice cream and is quite strong, with a classic southern black ice tea base. You don’t even need to add sugar to get the flavors to pop as they are already popping. I was surprised, as the group I was serving to aren’t big into teas, but loved this tea and didn’t take any sweetener when offered.

I would buy this again, maybe snag the loose leaf Rainbow sherbet 52 Teas if it’s around.

This is really good – I steeped it for a little more than two minutes on accident, and I was concerned it would get bitter, but it didn’t. I don’t have a ton to say, as it is just a “wild berry” flavor, which I felt was accurate enough, and the flavor was strong and tasty. I would definitely recommend it.

I cold brewed overnight, and probably used more water than I should have but it turned out great! Although not for the sophisticated palate this tastes exactly like little cola candies- the ones with the sugar sprinkled all over. It’s a happy tea :) quite fun.

P.S. I am back! :P

Taste like pink cotton candy, it even has the artificial after taste I remember from cotton candy. It was fun to try and green tea worked great with it but I don’t see it being one I would drink very often because blue is my favorite kind of cotton candy.
