This is my favourite tea. I like it best in the morning, especially if I have an early morning class. It’s sweet and delicate, and the aroma is wonderful! I don’t let it steep as much as normal earl grey, but I like weaker tea than most, so that might not be a problem for most. I’m on my last sachet now, and the place I got it from doesn’t sell it anymore, but it’s definitely worth searching for!
Incredible! I am Persian and this is the most authentic re-creation of a Persian tea that I had growing up that I have ever tasted… I’ve tried similar blends by Ahmad Tea, Tea Pigs, etc. and this one by far is superior! Very well done!
Preparation
0.8 tbsp for 200 ml of water
Distinct woodsy note from the rooibos. There a bit of a wheat-like mouth feel. Fruity notes in the background with smooth sweetness.
Thanks to Indigobloom for sharing with me!

I had a cup of this before i went out on my bike ride with ian to enjoy this beautiful fall day! gotta love it when it’s warm, there’s a cool breeze and the leaves are starting to change colours. I love fall!
I don’t hate this tea, but i am done with it. I likely will not repurchase once i finish the last of this tin that i have. A decent enough tea but not the kind of pear tea i was looking for.
oh man. So i cold brewed this one just for kicks. I am digging the cold brew quite a bit! Unsweetned there was a bit of pear hanging out in the background, and then with a little bit of sugar added to this, there’s more going on. Another white tea, so not my go to tea, but this isn’t half bad. It’s still not my perfect pear tea but it’s a refreshing tea nonethless that has a really nice base that it “pears” well with haha.
Preparation
hmmm I’m undecided on this one. I think I’ll need to have another go at this to make my final decision. It tastes like pear, but not as much “pear” as i want it to have. Tentative rating for now…will write more when i get a chance to sit with it some more :)

Backlog:
I really liked this Oolong. I enjoyed three cups (six infusions) of this tea and it is so sweet and creamy and delicious. Each cup was a little different.
The first cup (infusions 1 & 2) was so creamy that it really was a little difficult to discern any other flavors … but I wasn’t complaining because it was so delightful to experience the sweet, buttery, creamy taste.
The second cup (infusions 3 & 4) was still creamy but maybe not quite as creamy … I noticed more flavors here because the creaminess had diminished a little bit. I noticed a pleasing floral note, as well as notes of fruit.
The third cup (infusions 5 & 6) was crisp and lighter in flavor, but still very enjoyable. Slightly minty! Interesting note to taste in an Oolong such as this.
I like this Oolong quite a bit.
So, this was pretty much the only tea that I bought at the Victoria Tea Festival. It’s just that good.
The best rendition of a milky-esque oolong I’ve had to date. The first steep is a little on the floral side, with a touch of cream.
Second steep, the creaminess comes out a bit more, but the floral undertones hold on.
Third steep, the floralness is waning while the creaminess gets fuller. Note that the creaminess isn’t heavy at all. Very dainty and sweet.
Fourth steep is soft and buttery. Soothing and wholesome.
This alone was worth paying admission.
By the way, are you getting Amoda’s box this month? They had this month’s at the festival and Love Affair made me drool so hardcore, but since it’s a rooibos, I passed. If you’re getting it this month, you need to let me know how that one is!
I did not get it this month – hoping to pick it up again next month possibly. This month’s box looks overly floral, so i can’t say that i’m upset about that. floral teas and i say NO NO and NO! most of the time lol
Yeah, the White Cherry this month smelled very nice. Tart cherry, but the jasmine is just waiting to unleash its wrath.
1 tablespoon for 375 ml
Good mixture of flavours with the mint. The mint isn’t too strong on the sip but leaves a delightful refreshing tingly feeling in the mouth.
Thank you to Indigobloom for letting me try this!
Preparation
another non black tea for the day in between sleeping…i’m starting to outgrow this one. While i still enjoy the first steeping, it makes me wish i had more of mandala’s milk oolong instead. For when i feel the need to have one that is. Still though, decent enough and enjoyable today while i’m curled up under the blankets watching bad tv. :)
I also had a cup of this earlier today after my puerh time. I needed something lighter and refreshing and totally different than the previous teas. It also helps that this is one of my older teas (though by “old” i mean 7? months). I’m still trying to work on sipping things down AND finishing off the older teas. I’m pretty excited that i only have 5 teas left from January of this year, and two of those are puerhs, so they hardly count heh.
This tea is still delicious and creamy but now that i’ve had a number of other teas, i’m dropping the rating just a little since Mandala’s milk oolong is pretty darn delicious compared to this one :)
One more day….until the weekend that is. Having a nice cup of this while i finish up some work for tomorrow’s sessions. This is the last of what i brought to china of this tea but i’ve got a bunch left from my home stash – to the point of feeling bad that i haven’t had more time to enjoy a nice cup in the evening. We’re trying to plan a few things for saturday since i may have to spend all of sunday working. So maybe no great wall of china for me this trip. Maybe i’ll get lucky and be able to come back and have some time off afterwards. if not, i still can’t complain since i’ve had a great time here so far with what limited time i’ve had. Since it was a work trip, i’m happy for whatever i manage to do.
i needed this cup tonight…tempted to have another but i thinkit might get cold or i might crash before i get around to drinking it. :) It was a good thursday.
I think I found out where they’re hiding the magic tea…exception was too exhausted this afternoon to try it. BUT I’m well prepared for tomorrow! But since I was too tired to e organized with tea upstairs, I’m having a cup of this in my room while I rest up for dinner. We hit the square AND the forbidden palace this afternoon so that was slightly tiring. Navigated the subway so I think I should be good to figure out getting to the tea market on my own….though I’m starting to worry I won’t have time for any of this fun stuff at the rate work may keep me busy.
Ah well, there’s a reasons I brought some of my own tea lol still digging this one! Creamy and delicious all in one.
guys…i WILLINGLY chose to drink this today. In fact, i actually purchased MORE! of a GREEN OOLONG. Yeah, that’s right. I can get behind this tea. It makes me smile. It’s creamy and delicious and smells divine!
haha i think it might just be this one…and the green sparrow from butiki. You’re just hoping i’ll grow to love them and then buy lots to share :P
Uh the description says something about milk oolong from what I remember…lol. I just now it smells AMAZING…and so I bought more. 15% off which isn’t much but it’s something.
It’s a milky oolong, but they fully admit to adding the flavour and use a different process than whatever they normally do, or so I’m told. I looooove this one to!!
Kittenna, you can have some of mine, but it comes in a sachet (I ripped mine open)
Haha. I am curious mostly because Sil likes it! I don’t frankly care if there’s flavouring in my milk oolongs as long as I enjoy them, lol. I don’t get flavouring-yuckies from the two milk oolongs that are my current faves (DT and Bon The Place).
Ah. It’s different somehow. More on the cream, maybe? and silkier.
Not your typical MO but I can’t put my finger on why!
So I’m having a bit of a weird moment here. The aroma of this tea before it’s steeped is divine! it’s sweet and reminds me of candy? When i sip on this, my first response is… buttered popcorn??
As i continue to sip it starts to become sweet like candy while still having this taste of buttered popcorn. It’s the most bizarre taste that i’ve had. I’m looking forward to having multiple steepings of this one to try out. I know Indigobloom has mentioned her love of this one. This might be the first green oolong that i like…except it’s truly a weird flavour profile for me. I’m going to go through a few steeps as well as try it again to see if i continue to get this buttered popcorn taste :) CREAMY buttered popcorn heh
Resteeps on this one become sweeter as I go
Oolong is perhaps my absolute favorite type of tea, and this one is particularly exceptional. No unnatural flavoring, so smooth and creamy, and presents the richest amber hue, even after repeated steeping. Such a clean almost fruity essence too… I could probably drink nothing but this for months.
My highest rated tea to date.
