I’m not sure how, but I accidentally removed this one from my Steepster cupboard so I couldn’t find it earlier. Never fear, it’s still here and I still really love it. The aroma is cookies and nutty coconut. It steeped up a little bitter today but some honey and cream evened it out. I’m not really tasting any chai spices so maybe I’ll need to shake it up next time. The flavor is still good though, thick and creamy. Much butter than this morning’s Tulsi Detox. But now I have officially logged each cup in my cupboard. Goal complete! This is my celebratory cup. :)
Second Steep
8 ounces water + 200 degrees + 15 minutes
I wish I had read my notes on this one before re-steeping. Apparently, I wasn’t too happy with the second steep last time around. The liquid is very light in color. There is still some flavor, more spice, but not enough for me.
Flavors: Bitter, Coconut, Cookie, Nutty, Spices
Today’s cup is sweet and milky and spiced with ginger. I steeped the tea in 4 ounces of water, then added 4 ounces of steaming milk that I had warmed with a spoon of honey. It’s a luxurious treat this Saturday morning.
This is a good tea, one that smells of ginger snaps and coconut. The deep, dark tea and the spices – it’s a welcome departure from the fruity hibiscus herbals I’ve been drinking this week. Having teas like this one reminds me of why I keep coming back to tea.
Flavors: Cookie, Ginger

It really is! It’s one of two chai I’ve been loving lately, the other being the Vanilla Red Chai from Saint Simons Tea Co.
I’ll have to check those out! There is a place here that had a chocolate coconut chai that I quite like too.
Oh wow, chocolate coconut chai sounds incredible! I wonder if you could do something similar by melting chopped chocolate in steamed milk before adding to the steeped tea? I may experiment with that a little.
Saint Simons doesn’t have a website yet (just a Facebook page) so for now I think ordering is limited to phone calls and in-store purchases. I would be happy to send you some to try though if you think you might like it.
This tea smells incredible. It’s all coconut and smells fresh and tropical. The dry mix is mostly tea – small, long, twisted black leaves. There are also small pieces of ginger and cinnamon bark. The aroma kind of reminds me of ginger snap cookies (the good, chewy kind), but I wouldn’t necessarily say that it smells strongly of ginger. The fragrance is sweeter.
The tea leaves must have soaked up quite a bit of water because I don’t have nearly as much in my cup now as I put in. The liquid is dark and a little murky. I smell more ginger now but still the coconut. The taste is mostly ginger, again like those ginger snaps. There is also a bit of tartness there, like the slight acidity of lemon. It doesn’t taste like lemon, but it does have some zip. I don’t taste the cardamom or the cinnamon really, but it’s nice to be able to experience a spice other than cinnamon every now and then. I’m having this cup with a banana muffin and the two are getting along together quite nicely.
Second Steep
8 ounces water + 200 degrees + 10 minutes
I smell more cinnamon this time around. This cup is light in color but still a little cloudy. It still has the sweet perfume. I’m not sure it’s worth the re-steep, but it does taste more spiced with the second cup.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Coconut, Cookie, Ginger, Spices, Sweet, Tart, Tropical
I’ve lightly sweetened this today. The main flavor is hibiscus. It’s not really tart this time around, but there is a drying sensation in the back of my mouth. This is one my husband would love, I’m sure of it. To me, it’s just not that exciting.
Flavors: Drying, Hibiscus
Preparation
This is such a fun tea. It actually has miniature gummy bears in it! The fragrance is menthol and fruit. I can see lemongrass, hibiscus, and bits of fruit and flower petals. And gummy bears, of course! The color of the liquid is deep – a purplish red. It does smell like fruity gummy bears, but it has more of a berry flavor. It’s also a bit tart. Overall, this tea is fun but not terribly exciting taste-wise. I let it cool a bit on my desk and it’s not bad so this may be one to try later on ice.

January 2022 → An apricot tea
An all-time favorite tea. Surprisingly, one of the few teas I have with apricot too. It’s slightly floral and full of that stone fruit flavor. Love it.
Flavors: Floral, Stonefruit
Preparation
This is a favorite and I’m down to the last of it, maybe 2-3 cups left. I’ll probably finish it off in the next week or so, but it will go right back on my wishlist next to the Coconut Chai for my upcoming Satori Tea order.
Preparation
I’m breaking away from my current favorite (Nepal Black from DAVIDsTEA) to have this old favorite. It’s equal parts floral and fruity with the rose and stone fruits shining through. I love anything with rose anyway, and mostly anything floral, so pairing this with a good black tea is of course a win for me.
Flavors: Floral, Fruity, Rose, Stonefruit
Preparation
I love this tea. The fragrance is so comforting. It will always be in my cupboard.
Second Steep
6 ounces water + 200 degrees + 16 minutes
I almost lost this one to my keyboard. I don’t know which would have bummed me out more, spilling tea in my keyboard or not having tea. :(
Preparation
I love this. It’s all floral roses and strong, dark tea. It’s such a lovely combination. It actually reminds me of the Lebanese desserts my grandmother used to make growing up. Honey and cream make this a near perfect cup.
Second Steep
8 ounces water + 212 degrees + 10 minutes
I can still taste the rose, but it’s not as strong or as dark as the first cup. It’s definitely still satisfying though.
Flavors: Floral, Rose
Preparation
This tea smells so wonderful. I just love the combination of strawberries and black tea. It reminds me of Teavana’s Strawberry Slender Puerh which is one of my favorites. Actually, probably my very favorite. It’s been a while since I’ve had this one, though I’m not sure why since I remember enjoying it before. The main difference I think between this one and the Strawberry Slender is the floral aspect. It tastes like rose water even though I don’t detect that in the aroma. The smell is all fruit and berries.
Second Steep
6 ounces water + 212 degrees + 10 minutes
Mmm. This cup is nice and sweet.
Third Steep
6 ounces water + 212 degrees
I let this one steep for several minutes, maybe as many as 20 minutes. The color of the liquid is a much lighter shade and the fruit bits mixed with the tea have swelled and plumped enough to distinguish them as stone fruits. I bit into one and it tasted of peach or maybe nectarine. The steeped tea still has some flavor but I’ll probably stop here since it may be getting a little weaker.
Flavors: Berries, Floral, Fruity, Rose, Stonefruit, Strawberry
Preparation
This is one of three teas I ordered from Satori and the first I’ve had the opportunity to try. I brewed a full pot over the weekend to share with my brother who was over for a visit. He loved it and drank over half the pot on his own, but my husband didn’t really care for it. I thought it was really something special.
Aside from the tea itself, the dry mix includes bits of fruit and brightly colored pieces that look much like saffron. Red, orange, yellow – almost neon in color and very beautiful. The final cup is sweet and floral to taste and has a lingering flavor that brings to mind rosewater. Creamy and fragrant and somewhat exotic, this is an indulgent cup perfect for a cozy afternoon at home.
