Rosevear Tea

I have had an opportunity to try many Rosevear Tea teas in the past few months as I purchased their advent calendar. I’m just finishing up the last few days of the calendar now as I was away the days leading up to Christmas. I think that my favourite teas from the calendar were the green teas just like this Jasmine Blossom that I am currently drinking. There’s a buttery tone to the tea and you can tell that a decent green tea was used even though it is flavoured. Jasmine is well-balanced, sweet, and floral. Slightly vegetal on the aftertaste.

Good lychee flavour. Very thin mouthfeel black tea. Black tea tastes stale and bitter.

Thin moutfeel. Quite flavourful and good combination of flavours.

Really great rice flavour with roasted and vegetal tones. The brewed tea has a very nice aroma. This brew would probably pair nicely with a savoury meal. Sweet matcha-like aftertaste.

Aroma of tea is buttery. Tea is vegetal and slightly astringent. Spinach-vegetal flavour really blooms into the aftertaste.

Very mild flavour

Very mild and muted flavour.

Black tea is bitter and overpowers the very mild flavouring

The idea behind the flavour combination is lovely- green, white, and vanilla. The white tea in this seems to come out a bit bitter and not very distinct as a note in the brew. I wish that this sencha (which seems to be used in many Rosevear Tea blends) wasn’t always used for these flavoured teas- I find it to be pretty boring as it would not be able to stand on its own. I really do like the vanilla flavouring in here. It gives a nice sweetness and ties the other flavours together.

Too bitter for my taste. The spices in this blend are hidden by the bitterness of the black tea.

Fruity sweetness. Slight smokey note.

Great combination of flavours. The green tea pairs very nicely with the spearmint. There is a slight dull bitter edge but I think that is just part of the characteristic of the gunpowder tea. I really appreciate being able to taste the green tea properly in this blend- nice to see the actual tea able shine in this brew. The slight savoury smokiness of the gunpowder lends a very nice quality.

Bitter and lacking in flavour.

Great combination of flavours with the orange, vanilla, and rooibos. I am very impressed that the hibiscus is expertly-blended (not overpowering) in this brew and gives an authentic citrus feel. This would probably be amazing as a cold-brewed beverage.

Relatively mild chai flavouring which is balanced nicely with the green tea flavour. The green tea itself tastes rather bland with just a hint of deep vegetal flavour at the end of sip. I really like the warming cinnamon and ginger notes in here and they pair very nicely with the green tea.

A bit too astringent for my liking. I would probably try infusing for less time if I had the opportunity to drink this again in the future.
