Prior to steeping you can smell equal parts lemon-ginger…after steeping…it calms down and you just sniff a tad of lemon and ginger…just hints – maybe a tad more lemon than ginger. The coloring is a semi-murky Green Tea Color. It’s a bit more gingery than lemony when it comes to taste but the blends well. Lately I have been tasting some Ginger-Types and they are a little much. This one is ok!
You sure can smell the vanilla prior to steep. After steep – not so much but still slightly. The color is a nice wood-like brown. The taste is pleasant and not overbearing and the vanilla is a nice touch…this is coming from someone who doesn’t usually go for vanilla flavored things. Nice Job NUMI!
I agree with the previous review…it’s a pleasant taste without being overpowering on the spices! The scent is stronger than the taste. This is a nice, even blend. If you are looking for over the top or strong you might feel left wanting but if you want a chai or blend that isn’t hardcore…try this.
Pleasant Scent Prior to steeping – while steeping it morphs into a different smell…must be the flowers…light brown in color. Nice delicate taste. I was thinking it was going to taste similar to a jasmine green tea but it’s very different. It’s good. Very pleasant and light and thirst-quenching.
This smells nice prior to steeping but loses a lot of it after it’s steeped. The color is typical black tea color. The taste is a lot lighter than I thought it would be with all of those black tea blended and the name of it. It’s a good blend and tasty but I would LOVE IT even MORE if it was stronger!
I was on the verge of ‘neutral’ rating on this one but it’s a tad better than neutral so I gave it a thumbs up but barely. Not that it’s bad just not wonderful. It does remind me a little bit of the African Autumn by Harney & Sons tho…or reminiscent of. The pre-steep aroma had me thinking I wouldn’t care for it…it smelled to sweet for me but it mellowed quite a bit after steeping. The color is a nice reddish brown. The taste is a little sweet and a little Rooibos but on the light side…almost like it’s missing something or needs to be stronger. I did over steep so it’s not that I didn’t give it enough time…got this in a sample pack so I don’t think I will be buying large quantities of it anytime soon.
Nice solid Black Tea Scent. Typical Color for a black tea. Has a hint of floral taste but just a hint…if you weren’t looking (or tasting) for it you might miss it. Plus a tad of citrus undertone is a nice touch. I really like this tea.
A pleasant chai taste without the overpowering spice that some chai blends have. The most prominent flavour is cinnamon, followed by cardamom. Die-hard chai lovers may find this tea too weak for their tastes, as even prolonged brewing times do not produce an overly strong tea, and it is easily watered down by milk. More of a ‘beginners’ chai, but nice nonetheless!
I was going through my tea closet, looking for some matcha, and found a few Numi flower teas! I over-steeped this one a bit, (I really liked the look of the flower, so I didn’t want to pour out the water!), but it is still very, very good. I’m having it without any sweetener.
