This was my go to tea for several months when I was attending a mindfulness group in the afternoon once a week. So much so, that it became part of the ritual of attending the group. For a pre-packaged tea bag, even an artisan pouch as they term it, I was impressed with the consistent and complex flavour. The black tea is a nicely balanced Ceylon and Chinese blend. The Madagascar vanilla flavour is quite prominent and evokes a natural creaminess that is quite pleasant. Once the group ended, I picked up a box of the pouches. With each pouch individually packaged and sealed they are quite a handy and portable tea to take on the go.

This tea is getting really old now, I’ve had it for two years now I think. I bought it because I love mighty leaf’s other blends like their Mint chocolate truffle and African nectar ones.

Unfortunately I don’t find the vanilla flavour to be very strong or enjoyable. However there is a very strong orange pekoe from the grocery store or an English breakfast flavour here from the unmistakably black tea. The cocoa smells is nice, but I find it almost a tiny bit floral? I don’t know, maybe I need to try this as a latte and cold before I give it a thorough review and number rating.

I still have a buttload of teabags of this flavour, so I’m going to try it other ways and then re-evaluate. Until then, this review will have to do.

This has been in my tea cabinet for a while, not sure why I haven’t reviewed it yet.

This is a good, solid white tea. Hints of wet grass, straw, and wood dominate the well balanced field of taste. The aftertaste is nice and clean and crisp, no weird flavors or overtones in this one.

Overall, a super simple, solid, well balanced and yummy white tea. Nothing special, nothing unnecessary, it’s not trying to be something it doesn’t need to be. Just a really good white tea.

Yum.

drank Brazilian Fruit by Mighty Leaf Tea

GCTTB DAY 1

Whoot, it was definitely an exciting day to find a box of teas waiting for me at home when I returned from work! My roommate couldn’t believe her eyes, she thought I had bought like 20 lbs of tea for myself, lol. I had to explain the concept of her travelling tea box to her.

It was rather overwhelming trying to decide which tea to sample first, my breakfast ended up getting cold! I chose this one on a whim, was looking for something black but with twist. Brazilian fruit sounded pretty good. Unfortunately I’m not getting much from it. It might have been a bit older, because I didn’t get much in the way of dry leaf aroma either. The tea has minimal favour and body, and has a slight soapy aspect to it. Not the greatest start I suppose, but there is so much more to try!

Now I have to go buy small ziplock bags to add my own tea, I wonder where I can find some. I’m thinking a craft store like Michaels?

Evol Ving Ness

Hurray—it got there in record time! Do let us know where you find those tiny bags. And have fun with the teas.

Mookit

Yeah I was really surprised! The tracking number indicated it might be arriving on the 12th, so it really was record time.

Kristal

I was really surprised how quick it got to you, especially since places out west have had snow storms!

Dustin

A lot of people buy these fancy scent proof bags for sending and storing tea which are kind of nice. A bit pricier than regular plastic zips, but they are great for tea!

2-day-long meeting at not-my-office, so i brought a bag of this along to keep me company. much nicer than i thought it would be; pleasant to sip in its entirely non-ideal preparation of office-hot water in a paper cup steeped until gone. ;)

Old sample from Tea Sipper. Thank you!

This is dominated by the Hibiscus and Lemongrass, which I don’t really care for paired together.

so i had this tea when i was at the RBG (royal botanical gardens) tea house.

not too good, but good enough to try :) tasted like a black tea instead of vanilla. due to the fact i have no more, and the lack of taste/quality, i shall not be doing a full review. definitely not recommended to try, you’ll just be disappointed unless you are the kind of person who loves all tea they drink/try

Less leaves, and it is surprisingly chocolaty. I steeped it at fifteen seconds. It’s still a little strong for me, but better than it was last time. Overall, a malty, borderline chocolaty black tea with the rose, cardamom, and saffron in the background playing into a sweet cup. I’m half tempted to add cream since it is so strong. Sugar, however, would not do it justice.

Very sweet and creamy rosy black tea. I taste a little bit of the cardamom making the rose sweeter. A little bit on the astringent bitter side for me, but its a pretty delightful tea. It is pretty similar to Turkish coffee or even Turkish delight (though completely different nationalities). Thanks to Evol, I sampled it. Not sure if I’d keep some since it is a bit strong for me. Maybe less leaves next time.

Daily Cold Brew!

I was looking for something fruity in the box to try cold brewed and low and behold there was this both oddly specific and at the same time nondescript tea kickin’ around so I figured why not.

I had a really, really hard time placing the fruit flavour in this. At first I thought maybe some sort of strawberry (or other berry) and currant combo? Then I was thinking more on the stonefruit side of things. Turns out it’s passion fruit!? I mean, this was tasty and I guess looking back on it I sort of see that but it’s definitely not any sort of defined passion fruit flavour nor anything comparable to other passion fruit blends I’ve tried.

The base was pleasant enough; I’m gonna guess Ceylon black tea just ‘cause of the overall floral flavour and sort of mild/almost neutral malt sort of flavour that’s just barely present and mostly lends itself to be an non-intrusive canvas for the added flavours.

Nice enough to try; enjoyed the brew but overall I’m guessing will likely be forgettable.

EDIT: Apparently the base is some sort of Chinese black; curious what type because the profile is much like Ceylonese blacks – but ultimately doesn’t change my opinion of the tea.

Evol Ving Ness

I bought this tea because I just assumed that the fruit would be maracuja and I think that vaguely it is. I just wish that the fruit flavour came through a bit more intensely.

drank Holiday Blend by Mighty Leaf Tea

The last remaining sample from my swap with Evol Ving Ness, thanks again, it was fun!

I enjoyed this fruity chai and I can see why it is called holiday blend. It would make a delicious latte during the Christmas season on a cold day wrapped up in a warm blanket. Maybe not my favourite during the spring/summer months but still good!

I was very surprised to find I actually enjoy this blend. Most peach teas taste artificial to me or are sickly sweet (stevia) but this one tasted natural and was not too sweet or overpowering. I could even taste the pleasant tea base.

I can taste several fruits, most notable stone fruits like apricot and peach. I also taste some other fruit, but I’m not sure what it is. They served my tea super hot (boiling) so I burnt my tongue and couldn’t taste as much. There is a bit of sweetness, like nectar and ripe fruit. I find this adds to the overall appeal.

I may try this iced some day, I think it would be fantastic served cold.

I might have to try this one, then. I’ve had a really hard time finding a peach tea I like.

Arby

They gave me boiling hot water with the teabag already in it, so I made sure I took the teabag out pretty quick. I suspect if you left the teabag in longer than ?I did you would end up with gross overpowering flavour. Try ~2 minutes, taste, than try steeping longer if needed.

rosebudmelissa

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. That’s probably part of my problem, I prefer teas that I can leave steeping for a while if necessary, since my kids often interrupt me in the middle of making a cup of tea.

Absolutely divine. Tasted just like those chocolate orange slices that you can get around Christmas time. Perfect with milk. It was good as a dessert tea. The chocolate was very strong and the orange was kind of like an afternote. It was very very nice.

I really liked this one! The flavoring is the most genuine fruit flavoring I’ve ever tasted. I’m not sure which fruits are Brazilian, but this tasted like stone fruits and watermelon to me. Very sweet, but not cloyingly so. Very refreshing; must try it as an iced tea.

Thanks again for the sample Evol Ving Ness
This tea is fairly tasteless for me, but it is an old sample now!

Thank you Evol Ving Ness for the sample!

This was fruity but I wasn’t able to pick out the specific fruit until I read the description here. It tasted fairly natural though and not too sweet. Very enjoyable. I will ice or cold brew it next time
