I love this tea, but for some reason I always forget about it. Probably because it’s a teabag, to be honest. But the vanilla flavor is distinct, the tea itself is strong enough without being overwhelming, and I love the little flecks of vanilla bean that escape the bag. A tried and true favorite.

This is a great vanilla tea, one of the better ones I’ve tried. I love the specks of vanilla I see in the bag and in my cup. It smells very fragrant and pure vanilla as you would expect.

drank Orange Dulce by Mighty Leaf Tea

So I have tried this tea twice once black and once with 1 sugar and milk and both times I found the tea odd. There is a strange flavor to the tea almost as if the orange flavor and vanilla notes are competing with each other and makes the tea very off putting. Humpf and I was looking forward to a nice cuppa.

This is a very strong Chamomile tea and if I am being honest my mom always gave me Chamomile tea when I had an upset stomach so maybe its bring up bad memories. I don’t like this tea much at all, very strong Chamomile with rosehip peel. I wish I tasted some of the spearmint or orange flavoring but alas I did not! Thank God this was from a sample pack!

Its Friday morning and I am on my second cup of this while at the office, its raining outside and this tea is doing the trick! I am drinking this black with a little bit of honey and its perfection. It brews to a wonderful dark amber colour and the taste is very robust without any lingering aftertaste, you are just always ready to have another sip! Its almost the weekend and this tea is definitely helping the day move along.

I am so new to tea that I find exploring all these different flavors and blends to be so rewarding and fantastic to the palate. This being said this is my first exploration into a Jasmine tea, I find this tea to be very clean tasting with a hint of Jasmine and ricey flavor notes. Where I was an avid coffee drinker, drinking many cups a day I find delving into teas so much more rewarding.

Ummmm, Yeah I didn’t like this one very! I found the marigold to be over powering actually! I had purchased the bagged version so I didn’t experience any of the leaves floating around like the others or a wet woody taste. To be honest it tasted like someone put marigold flowers in a blender, juiced it and served it to me warm, blah!

I could straight up eat the dry bag, it smells that good! This is a wonderful flavored green tea that has subtle pineapple fruit taste that brews to a delicious amber colour. This was in a variety pack that I got to sample so I am so glad that I have been able to try this so that I can buy a larger version.

Some other tasters have said that they tasted a rotteny mango taste and that couldn’t be any further from my experience. I will be brewing another cup rather soon I think. Yum!

So this came in the Mighty Leaf Variety pack that I purchased the other day because I am on this wild journey exploring the world of tea and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised right down to the quality of the tea bag to the flavor of the bergamot. Now I am new to the world of tea and definitely need to try more Earl Grey tea to compare them all against but I do believe this quite the nice tea.

I am drinking this one as we speak its a nice black tea but nothing really jumps out at you. The pouch smelled beautiful but after brewing the tea the smell dissipated too. I bought this in a variety pack so I am interested in the other flavors.

I used to like Earl Greys quite a bit. Then the thrill wore off and I found myself avoiding them. Today, however, as I was deciding what to load my travel mug with, I grabbed this one. Not because I was craving the bergamot Earl Greyness of it, but I just thought that I will need to drink it eventually, so why not start today. Wow! Really, really good. The smoke and feisty intensity really appealed to me. In fact, appealed to me so much that I immediately made myself another cup when I came home. Delicious.

There are random moments when I like them still, but I avoid them often as well.

Today I had two more cups and enjoyed both. Going with it.

GCTTB ROUND 6

Sweet, fruity (distinct flavours of strawberry jam, dates, fig), floral (rose, gardenia, maybe jasmine?), spices. It reminds me of my grandmother’s date cake with jam on it. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the black tea seems prone to becoming overly tannic (I only steeped mine 3 minutes). In the future I will try 2 minutes, but I really like the intensity of the fruity/floral notes.

Strong flavours of fruit, earth, and roots. The ginger is very spicy (have you ever tried shredding ginger in hot water when you have a stomach ache? It tastes just like that: fresh unprocessed ginger), minerals, and a sweetness/earthiness that might be from licorice root or the ginger. I think this might also have some sort of fruit in it, but I can’t place which ones. Possible citrus/lemon, or maybe apple? Regardless, it is an excellent blend. Too many ginger teas are not very gingery or contain a lot of licorice root that tastes like iron, metal, dirt, and artificial sweetener. Stupid licorice, ruining perfectly good herbal teas. Don’t get me wrong, I actually love black licorice, but I don’t like it when the licorice is overpowering and tastes like sickly sweet metal.

Yet another fantastic tea blended by Mighty Leaf. I probably would not keep this around all the time because it isn’t a flavour I need regular access to, but nevertheless, I really enjoyed trying it and would order it at a cafe again.

I “used” to really love this tea, it was a go too fruity green tea for me. But when they starting changing their brand look and the boxes it felt like they changed their brew as well. I don’t care for the new one nearly so much. It’s become the neglected tea in my tea stash. Ok, but not my favorite anymore. Seems a lot less fruity and well blended then it used to be. Sorta blah now.

After begging to sample this from Evol, and so much waiting, I am trying it. I love me some longan fruit teas, and when Evol described it, I was hoping for it to be very similar to the Ailoashan from Whispering Pines, which was and is one of the most popular teas on this site, and is blended into the OTHER TWO most popular teas on this site. And yes, I read the other reviews hitting at the lychee, the rose, and the allusive cocoa note that Evol and others pick up on.

It definitely has a malty, dark chocolate body for a tea that is a little bitter, but bittersweet like dark chocolate. This would make a good pair for that kind of desert in the after noon. But the cocoa-chocolate thing was the background of the tea for me, and the longan fruit was the leading heady star. If I were to have tried this blind, I would have guessed this was a rose black tea. The lychee, which is pretty damn similar to a longan fruit, is more of an accent for me than anything else though I taste it. This cup is like someone decided to pour some cocoa in hot rose water. The rose makes me think of candy wax for what-ever reason because it is so sweet.

For the brew that made me babble this way, I more or less tried to Gong Fu it beginning at 20 sec, 30, 40, 45, and the current cup at a minute. The third cup was a tad bit too strong, so I splashed the smallest amount of milk and it was actually pretty nice because it off set the bitterness and helped push the rose taste along. I could probably get another cup for a longer steep, but since I have more left of the sample, I am not too worried. I am getting more rose and dryness towards the end with a continual smooth body.

As much as I enjoyed it, I am not sure that I would drink this often. A part of me liked it more with the splash of milk. Yes, I liked a tea more with milk. This was sweet enough for me personally to not add sugar because the longan fruit processing is VERY STRONG, but some might add a dip of sugar. Next time, I think I’ll use just a little less leaf, more water, and try it western to see if that smooths it out. I do recommend it, but essentially, this tea is a rosy black type of tea with some UMPH. If that is what you’re looking for, this would be a good stop along the way.

Evol Ving Ness

hahahha, so much waiting. :)

Sorry, I always do come through, but sometimes it takes a bit of time for the stars to align.

Daylon R Thomas

No need to apologize. I was talking about how long I waited to finally try the tea.

Daylon R Thomas

I’m so glad that I saved the teas for this winter though, holy crap.

Evol Ving Ness

Yeah, this is very wintery stuff that you are drinking from me now. This weather for me is perfect for drinking the kind of teas that I like.

“Mighty” is an Earl Grey with a TON of extra flavoring added. It’s like the Kool-Aid Man breaking through walls. “OH YEAH,” he yells. “BERGAMOT.”

“Oh,” he adds. “And caffeine.”

GCTTB (round 6) entry

I’m really getting tea drunk today. I think I’ve had at least 5 pots of tea. I’m using my new dragon cast iron tea pot. I’ve been wanting this specific teapot for so long. I’ve never been happier with a teapot before.

Not a lot of flavour in this. A bit of dried fruit, a few spices. Some tea flavour, but mostly dull and lacking. It could be that I got mostly fruit and not very much tea?
