Tea and Cards TTB
Ok I was saving this bc it smelled so good, almost like sweet maple syrup, but I let it steep and it just tastes like hot water with a drop of maple syrup. Bland and boring?
((But of course, I’ve had this tea for a while so it may have just passed its prime))
It’s 10:59PM with jet lag, and I’m beginning to lose faith in my ability to taste tea…
Second infusion, 175 F, 90 seconds. Can actually smell the fruit now, although I’m not sure I’d be able to identify it as blackberry. I keep staring at the label on the tea bag, trying to conjure “blackberry” out of the tea as if by reading the word over and over, I might taste it.
I’ll try this again tomorrow. Trying this three times in a row has only enhanced my sense of the tea’s acidity. My mouth is puckering.
Flavors: Astringent, Fruity
Preparation
Just under boiling, 1/2 a teaspoon, better than the first try. There’s a sweetness in the tea now, and using fewer leaves resulted in a mellow cup with medium flavor length. I still can’t taste or smell the blackberry. This tea remains very dry with high astringency. It would probably go well with honey. At this point, I’m not sure buying 4 oz of it was a great idea…
Flavors: Astringent, Sweet

Received this as a gift. I can smell the fruit strongly when the tea is dry, but I can’t identify whether that fruit is peach or apricot. I didn’t expect to like it because I don’t like ginger, but if I did like ginger, I think this would be a good tea.
Flavors: Fruity, Ginger
This was a gift from my sister; cute because my dad loves snickerdoodles, and we seemed to have inherited the fondness for them. However, this tea really doesn’t remind me of a snickerdoodle, which I primarily associate with cinnamon and butter, at all. This is very much an almond tea, and light on the cinnamon. That said, it’s a pleasant almond tea. I enjoy it with milk and sometimes some honey.
Flavors: Almond, Cinnamon
T&C TTB Round 2
The packaging is good. Nice and thick. I could actually smell the tea in the package despite having been in a TTB. This is very vanilla. The black currant may be making the bergamot seem sweeter. Either that or this isn’t a terribly strong bergamot. Regardless, it is a very nice blend. Very similar to H&S Paris, which is probably what they were going for. :) Overall, I prefer H&S but this is very tasty.

After my last superly amazing creamsicle-esque cup from Della Terra, this tea has to just floor me to make much of an impression (but after their La Pina Colada blew my socks off, I know it has a fair chance!) Plus, I have to try them back to back in a taste-off :D
This tea is alright. A bit more rooibos and honeybush than orange or cream:P I can taste the orange coming through more towards the end and it tastes like orange soda pop more than anything else.
Flavors: Orange, Rooibos

Okay, who stole me from Seattle and put me on a tropical island?! This tea is sooo pineapple-y and coconut-y, I can hardly handle it. Seriously, I feel like I am drinking a Pina Colada. So delicious. And something even more awesome, this tea is from a tea shop not too far away from here! Thank you, EvaGrimm for including this tea, you’ve introduced me to a new semi-local tea shop:D
Preparation
This is a delicious black tea with prominent notes of vanilla and currant. It has a slightly floral aroma. I had to pick something up in Tacoma today so decided to stop in The Mad Hat tea shop. I purchased 2 cups and picked up a few teas to try later but of the two that I tried, this was my favorite.
This tea has an extremely inviting caramel aroma. Once brewed, it tastes a little caramel-y and smoky with slight sweet undertones. I may have oversteeped it, since I detected some bitter notes occasionally. Good with milk and honey. After brewing, I noticed that there were these little balls mixed in with the leaves, and discovered that they were tiny little pieces of caramel candy – delightful!
Preparation
Delicious. Incredibly tasty tea, and a new favorite. This is only my second oolong (gasp), but I’m already finding myself taken in by the flavor, and the coconut in this tea is very noticeable and creamy. The nice, slightly astringent, feel of the oolong is making this almost a competitive morning tea (FLAVOR!), and I’m loving it.
When I looked at the liquor once it was done steeping, I nearly scoffed that this could taste like anything, it was so delicately yellow, how could it have infused any flavor? How glad I am to be wrong. I won’t doubt another oolong strange mystical powers…
1.5 teaspoons in 8 oz. of water.
Oh, and I almost forgot! Thank you T.C.!
