Jing Tea
Edit CompanyRecent Tasting Notes
One of my absolute favourite teas. Great for introducing friends to the delights of tea because the flavours are so clear. First a lovely orangey citrus followed by a mellow sweet honey taste. A gorgeous amber colour. Highly recommended.
Preparation
First time I let it steep too long and it was quite a bitter and unpleasant taste. Second time I got it closer and it was pleasant enough but the real experience for this tea is watching it open. Definitely a case for a glass teapot. It is a very calming and beautiful tea to brew but not quite matched by the flavour.
Preparation
I really enjoyed this cup tonight. The silver needle is of a nice quality. It is sweet and velvety and seemed to have a few honeydew melon notes. The jasmine was more delicate and did in fact have touches of citrus and vanilla. This is not one that I would reach for everyday, but when you want something soothing or a cup to contemplate, this one is an excellent choice.
Preparation
…After reading in several books through how much effort Japanese tea growers go with this particular kind of tea…well, I was a bit disappointet I must say.
The leafs look very inviting…dark green and juicy. But after brewing there is not much magic going on. The strong awakening effect that one is used to from drinking Sencha is not happening at all. Also that fruity flavor notes from Japanese green teas is missing here.
Although I was quite generous with the portioning of leafs for each brew…I only got a very shy glimps of spicyness out at the end.
Preparation
Managed to grab a cup of Jing’s Jasmine Silver Needle White Tea from a fellow tea drinking friend, really enjoyable the subtle hint of Jasmine. This tea made a refreshing change to a straight silver needle similarly to ‘mermaidcatch’ there were a few leaves in the basket but there was no overpower with the flavours very sweet and subtle.
Preparation
Love this stuff still. I particularly like that I can get multiple infusions from one batch of leaves.
I like the image of the leaves. With most companies opting for the “loose tea leaves in a flat circle-shape” image, it’s always nice to see something a little different. Sounds delicious too!
