Clipper

Picked up this tea the other day at the Metro store which has loads of different teas. This one sounded good but it’s in tea bags. When I opened it the orange smell hit my nose but not in a good way. It was sharp. Brewed up , I used 175 temperature water. The white tea is ….not the best I’ve had. It brews up dark and it does not have that mild delicate flavour that loose tea does. It is a stronger white tea. The orange flavour tastes artificial . Overall this is a crappy tea compared to some of the loose leaf white teas out there. For a bagged tea, it still is not great; but definitely not horrible. It is drinkable. Why am I so pulled in by fancy packaging? The box looked cute. The combo of white tea with orange sounded enticing. So here again I have bought a tea when I don’t need it and on top of that , it’s a bad tea. I think I do need TDA (Tea Drinkers Anonymous)

This has been my breakfast tea for the last month or so, and it’s probably my favorite in recent memory. It’s strong but not harsh; full of flavor, and takes milk & sugar like a champ. I still can’t tease out individual flavors in these blended teas I drink with milk, so I’ll just say it’s pretty close to my ideal of what a breakfast blend should taste like. Yum!

Does the job.

Apple, hibiscus, pineapple, something oddly bitter (melon?), more apple. I think this would be really fun cold-brewed and given to the kids; kids that love apples! An interesting tea, however I think I steeped it a bit too long, or perhaps used too much (two teabags for 12oz).

Day 3 & 15 of the Clipper advent calendar. The lemon in this has a candy sweetness to it, probably from the licorice root, while the mate adds a savory note reminiscent of rosemary. I actually like this better cold – the licorice fades out a bit and it makes the lemon taste more lemony and less candy-like. I have a tasting note from 9 years ago saying that I had this and found it tart and lemon-y, and I remember genuinely enjoying it, but it’s just not doing the trick today.

I quite like this one. It’s tart and lemon-y. Great for an afternoon tea break at the office. Sad to say I drank it all up before getting around to writing a full review. :(

Yesterday and today were days of fairly crappy bagged teas, courtesy of hosting nursing interviews. I’m definitely looking forward to being back at my desk tomorrow. Lipton is the standard fare, and they’re okay, but I was getting a bit tired of those. I tried this one today, but sadly wasn’t all that impressed. It smells gorgeous — a really lovely, fairly accurate berry scent, reminiscent of blackcurrant and maybe raspberry. Brewed, it just tastes like hibiscus, more or less. I wasn’t really expecting anything else, and it’s by no means a bad tea. The flavouring isn’t hopelessly tart, and it’s definitely drinkable. It was a hot drink, at the end of the day, and that’s what I needed more than anything. It gets points for that.

Surprisingly yummy! Few ingredients compared to other chai, but I find this gives it a very clean and refreshing flavor. The spices are skewed heavily toward clove, so if you aren’t fond of cloves you many not like it as much. I find the cloves remind me of classic Celestial Seasoning’s Mandarine Orange only without the orange or a bit like Bigelow’s Constant Comment. Very satisfying for a box of tea bags! Would definitely purchase again.

Nice.It’s a bit like NUMI’s Mate Lemon Green Tea ,reminding me of its lovely&sweet flavor of lemon myrtle .Actually,the cute package/cover gained some extra points ,furthermore I’m happy with the refreshing taste,as if I was welcomed with a warm&bright embrace and a sunny smile ,days were soft like cotton,that kind of thing XD.

This tea is hugely full bodied and robust with hints of smoke, damp soil, malt and wood. It can be astringent without milk but it can also be pleasurable plain, my husband likes it strong and black yet he usually adds milk to his hot drinks.

The loose tea itself is somewhat fine and powdery which I believe helps increase it’s strength but it may take a few steeps before you find your desired strength.

All in all it’s a splendid British brew.

got this from a friend. – Hmm, rarely drink T+ (fruit, aroma,….) just prefer my teas pure without any addition, so wasn’t very enthusiast at first.

Open: noted very strong rasberry taste, very sweet. Hope this is going o.k. as I really hate fruity, sweet teas.

pure delight. oh wow. Rasberry taste hardly detectable in cup, which is a huge plus. It’s a rather pleasant smooth cup with a bit of extra umpf. (reminds me of elderflower somehow)

Would never ever have picked this one myself, so pleasantly surprised.

Love the Clipper teas series, have the Earl Grey (my fave), the green, and the everyday tea.

Clipper seems to be taken over most of the popular brands here rather quickly. They are a big hit here at the moment, some types are not available here though (yet..?)

Will def. buy this one again.

This is the best decaf black tea I’ve found so far. This is the stout cuppa, with milk, that you want when you’re hankering after a satisfying and not too fancy cup of tea but don’t want to deal with caffeine.

hardly drink white tea (too….&…) but since I like Clipper teas, and the brand is now being introduced here (discounts, one free, etc.) I decided to try the white one.

appearance: dark golden, kind of orange coloured tea. Incredibly smooth, cannot really say what is tastes like, it’s just delicate, & smooth. Did I already say that?
smoothest teas I have had in a long time.

It’ll be great for ice tea during summers.

I need a morning kick, so drink this now and then, late at night and/or before going to bed.

nice green. Nothing special, but if you are in a hurry and don’t want to fuss with loose leafs in the pot, this one is just about right.

Clipper as a brand finally introduced here in NL!!!
Their Earl Grey is the best bagged tea on the market, and my staple tea.

this one is very nice as well. Tea that is on the market here tends to be weak and bland (we are a coffee nation, most coffee per head- ), however, I prefer a good old, strong English cup of tea, and that is just what this is.

strong, mix of assam and ceylon. yummie. box 0f 40 tips gone in no time….

Poor taste.

I didn’t like this infusion at all. Usually I love Clipper teas because of their honest taste, but this was just awful.
The colour is pretty purplish red, but the scent is a bit weird and overly sweet.
I can’t even describe the taste. But it will be stuck in your mouth for a looong time after drinking. It’s like sickly sweet beetroot. Ew.

This herbal infusion is a good after dinner option. To me this is a relaxing evening warm tea, a good digestive as well. You could also experiment by combining it with white or oolong teas or even puer tea for a change.

Day 8 & 20 of the Clipper advent calendar. This is a pretty standard chamomile/lavender blend. It’s fine for a teabag version, but my standards are really skewed. Harney does it better, and Butiki (RIP) blew them both out of the boiling water. I’d drink this if it was the only cham/lav blend available, but I just have better ones.

Apparently I had this nine years ago, and found the lemon much more notable then than I do now. Hmm. Even so, I gave it the exact same rating that I was planning to give it now!

adagio breeze sent this to me at least 6 months ago, but I’m just now getting through the last bag. I really like this blend. I’ve come around on the lemon balm in here. I used to think it was too much, but now I quite enjoy it. It tastes lemon-y without tasting like I could have just squeezed some fresh lemon into the cup for the same effect. Maybe it mellowed out with age? Anyway, bumping the rating a bit. Sad to say, this is a sipdown. Thanks adagio breeze!

Not bad, but a bit heavy on the lemon balm for my taste. I like the mint here – it doesn’t come out in the flavor so much as the sensation. Tingly! The chamomile and lavender are fine. The flavors all work together nicely, it’s just kind of tart for a bedtime tea. Many thanks to adagio breeze for the swap! Where’d she go, anyway?

I absolutely love this tea- it’s naturally delicious and has a beautiful cool licorice zing at the end of the sip. I really do suggest it, as its good for you and your tastebuds :)
