This deliciously flavoured herbal and fruit infusion balances the light and fragrant taste of Elderflower with the fruitiness of Apple.

Ingredients: Elderflower* (33%), Lemongrass* (30%), Rooibos*, Rosehip*, Hibiscus*, Liquorice Root*, Natural Flavouring, Apple* (3%), Pineapple*. * Organically grown ingredient. Contains liquorice – people suffering from hypertension should avoid excessive consumption.

This is how we do it: always use fresh water, pour it over the tea bag while it’s still boiling and allow to brew for 3-5 minutes. The rest is up to you.

Apple, hibiscus, pineapple, something oddly bitter (melon?), more apple. I think this would be really fun cold-brewed and given to the kids; kids that love apples! An interesting tea, however I think I steeped it a bit too long, or perhaps used too much (two teabags for 12oz).

Thanks to KittyLovesTea for sharing this with me! Something I probably wouldn’t have found on my own, which is always one of my favorite things – to discover things within someone else’s wheelhouse.

Colour: Dark gold.
Smell: Sweet and crisp apple with lemon and floral undertones.

Taste: Fresh and natural apple with a hint of sweet pineapple also with light lemon and floral tones. The more you drink the stronger the apple and fruit flavours become, overall this is a nice mellow fruity blend. Everything blends well together so you don’t have any bitter or harsh tastes like some other fruit teas have. You also get an added flavour once you have passed your cups half way point, mystical liquorice root. Now I am not such a fun of liquorice in tea as they can usually become over powering in flavour but this blends in nicely in the background.

This is a satisfying herbal tea, comforting, in fact, though I didn’t need comforting when I drank it. So like welcoming an affectionate hug or a warm bath without having sought that out. The fruit flavors are gentle and blend wonderfully together… must be the elderflower that set it apart from other tisanes… a soft but not at all boring flavor profile. Thank you, KittyLovesTea, for the gift of an unexpected hug :)

Feeling a little woozy this afternoon, possibly from too much caffeine. Perhaps a full pot of that English breakfast is not the best way for me to start the day. So I figure now is as good a time as any to try an herbal.

Aroma while steeping is apple-y and somewhat grassy, with a floral note. I don’t really know how to describe the taste, though… there’s the definite sweet aftertaste from the licorice root, but everything else seems to be blending together. I’m not too impressed by it, but it is helping to ground me a bit (contrary to the name, hurr hurr). Next time I’ll go for a longer steep.
