This came from the wonderful MissB and I’m glad she shared it with me.
When I went through the box she sent me, I opened some of the bags and smelled them & somehow I managed to lose the Ziploc baggie that this sample was in… so I kept wondering what that wonderful overwhelming mint smell was. As I shuffled back through the box I found this.. and that was it! Mint chocolate chip came to mind… even my 8 year old agreed that the smell was spot on.
Steeped the color is light and fragrance minty and green tea like. When it was still very hot, all I got was green tea.. not a favorite of mine by itself… have to have some additional flavor to make it work for me.
As it cooled, the mint flavor came through more and more and the green tea base disappeared some, but still very present. The chocolate is there as it cools, but very light for me… I’m tempted to add some chocolate bits next time I try it and see if it doesn’t improve it for me. I did add a small bit of raw sugar, which helped bring out the mint more, but less than my normal amount. I think I’m finding I’m using less and less on many of them lately.
I got this one from MissB!
Cold steeped overnight in the fridge, it’s like a commercial iced tea except not sweet. Candy flavours, mild base, really not that bad.
I microwaved the second half of my cup to try it warm… and promptly forgot about it. Oops? Hmm. It’s way better cold than microwaved. :)
I’ll probably finish up the jug I have in the fridge. Probably. Maybe not. It’s not really to my tastes anymore, although I bet 5 years ago I would have added sugar and happily downed it.
I received this from MissB’s tea stash sale. Thank you!
One of the teas for the 12 Days of Christmas exchange was The Pint from Adagio Teas. It was a black tea with vanilla and ginger. A tasty and interesting combination. So when I saw this I thought it would be interesting to try. I really enjoy this, but I would ask that there be more ginger! The vanilla in this is pretty strong and very yummy, but I want the ginger to stand out equally as well. This tea and the The Pint has me on the hunt for ginger teas.
I often just steep a nice black and add fresh slices of ginger. I find the fresh ginger adds a slightly lemony tones. I like ginger best with assams , Ceylon’s or a chocolaty Chinese black.
I agree! I instantly went to the fridge to see if I had any left. I don’t :( It will be on this weeks shopping list! Thank you for the suggestion.
sipdown! Thanks for sending this my way MissB I think that this would probably be pretty darn delicious as a cold brew. This initial smelle is a little artificial but once it brews up, it’s a really nice raspberry citrus tea. I wouldn’t call it LIME right off the bat, but the combination of the raspberry lime is a pretty decent blending. I’m really happy to be getting a chance to try out this company’s flavoured teas since i’m sure i’ll be ordering from them in the future to try their straight teas!
It really smells like candy, doesn’t it? I’m waiting to try my sample – I want to use my new cold steeping jars!
Teavana had a sale, so I ordered two jugs. One glass, one plastic. The glass ones have a habit of shattering when you hot steep and pour over ice into the jug, so I’m just going to use them for cold steeping.

I can’t figure out the tracking number, so I have no idea how close to delivery they are!
thanks for sharing this one with me missb sadly i think that i’ve lost interest in peach teas. There’s something about the peach flavour in teas that doesn’t sit well with me anymore. I DID love the mango piece of this tea though, so this would likely be a tasty tea for anyone who likes peach! No disappointment on my end, as it’s a new tea and quite nice apart from the peach flavour :)
Hm. Either I did something wrong, or Random Carpe Diem and I have very different tastebuds.
This is okay, however I’m missing anything really.. minty. There’s some chocolate in here, more so with a touch of stevia. I do taste the green base, which is okay if unmemorable.
Preparation
Not a very good green tea, not very vegetal and almost no flavour of any kind.
Nepalese tea is tricky and not like other tea…closer to a hybrid of black and green in how you brew it. Working with lots of different types of Nepalese tea’s, some were just awful until the temperature was adjusted down usually and the timing changed. Playing with a small amount of tea in a gaiwan will help.
It was amazing how the flavor transformed!
sipdown! (189) thanks for sending this my way Missb especially since it likely would have been one i picked out for my first order with this company (which will happen someday but later rather than sooner since my cupboard just went up!) I have to agree with missb that this is pretty close to mango “real” flavour. What i didn’t count on, was the smell. There’s something slightly cloying in the smell that is not sitting well with me. I an enjoying the tea for what it is but i’m not sure the smell wouldn’t get to me after a while. Not sure if i’ll order this myself but i’m glad i tried it. It’s a tea i could have in my cupboard now and again i think – one of the rotating teas :)
i asked missB to send me a couple to teas from the assam tea company as i’d never heard of them before and their website comes across as being quite extensive. This is one i would have picked up for myself so it was nice to receive. The dry aroma of this one is vanilla! and more vanilla! however, upon brewing the tea the ginger makes itself known. the taste of this tea is more like a sweet vanilla with a bit of something that cuts through it. It’s not the kind of ginger that i love – there’s a sweetness here that isn’t not the familiar spicy ginger i adore. However, it’s still a good blend. I’d be interested in seeing how this company does a straight vanilla black! overall a good first tea as an introduction to this company :) thanks missb!
Preparation
Not a bad Chai, but not outstanding. I think it would be better with more spice in it, seems to lack in black pepper and in ginger.
I’m finding Assam’s greens fairly weak myself as well, although I did hope you’d get more out of it than I.
Definitely drinkable, but not my favorite cup.
