Bought this on my trip to Berlin originally visiting the cafe to get a cup of coffee. I was planning on getting a Kukicha, but they were sold out, so tried this Oolong. It comes in a (hipster) jar, made of darkened glass.
Brewing it up, it gives a peachy colour. Aromas are mainly apricot. Tastes apricot too, some green notes. Cant remember how it tasted the first time. Drinking it now about a year later, and it has lost a lot of its taste and aroma. Not really a classic oolong, but would recommend if youre looking for something light, fruity and refreshing. Gives multiple brews (when fresh). Noted up to 7.

I got a great batch from 2015. When opening the bag i got an intense aroma of fresh, creamy butter and fruity notes. I did my first steeping at 40 degrees for 2min to open up the leaves, then 85-90 degrees for 10s for the rest – recommended by a japanese tea farmer, seems weird, but really works. The first steeping had a lut of butter and tropical fruits in the aroma, rich and thick texture. Tasting it i also got some notes of more baked goods, tropical fruits ending with some coconut.
The rest of the steepings had more grass to them, but over 3 steepings the intensity held up well.

Didnt find it mild at all, even though it was harvested half a year ago! Seems to hold up really well.
Bottomline: Really impressed with this sencha. Recommended!

Bought this tea on a trip to Berlin. The seller recommended the Saejak. Lucky me, we got to compare them before buying, really like the service of this shop! The Saejak felt cleaner, especially when comparing the leaves post-brewing. However i coulnd´t justify the Saejak having twice the price. The difference in the aroma (pre-brewing) and the taste of the brew wasnt that convincing.
I should add that since we live in Norway it was quite a difference tasting the tea in Berlin compared to brewing it up in my hometown of Bergen. Got a lot less of the musky odor post-brewing and a more intense brew in itself. Yay for Norwegian water!

Onto the Daejak (Maia´s pick), it quickly became one of my favourites. An oily texture, initial notes of toasted sesamy, a bit of peanut butter and a woody note. Then more of the vegetal notes reminicent of japanese tea.
Would definitely recommend this one if you like the toastiness of chinese green tea, but like the balance of japanese tea.

A light colour, i prefer to brew this a little bit shorter than the recommended time (about 1 minute). Fresh floral aroma and taste. Very clean, with a long lasting finish. Lasts for at least five steepings, have done up to 7 with a high tea-water ratio and good results. First steeping has a nice aroma of fresh yeasted bakery.
One of my favourite oolongs!

Bought this looking for a different kind of black tea, and thought that the tasting notes sounded exciting. Flavours mingle together into a funky mix (smoke, plums and pine). Good body, slightly more oily mouthfeel. Not too bitter, low level of tannins.

I found the tea quite invigorating, so wouldnt recommend drinking late at night. However i would strongly recommend the tea itself if a funky tea might be up your alley.
