Not too bad of a yancha. I got this tea from my OWT order, and it comes acrossme as a decent and normal rock oolong overall. Beautiful leaves albeit slightly broken, rich aroma in the wet leaf, beautiful liquor with a nice golden sheen, the flavour was decent but quite prototypical of a yancha. Texture was decent, character was average with a unidimensional session displayed throughout. Finish & aftertaste was decent, slightly juicy with a slight mineral aftertaste. Cha-qi was slightly noticeable, coming in with a bit of headiness, and finally steep longevity was average, topping out at steep 10.

Decent but not something to shell out the wallets for, objectively it passes, but you could save the money on more expensive yanchas.

Decent but slightly disappointing shou! I got this tea from my CLT order, and honestly I thought it would’ve been better after reading the reviews online. Leaves that were decent but having a unusually high stem proportion, aroma that is rich, especially in the wet leaf, and liquor that is dark and vibrant. Flavour that was decent but seemingly unidimensional, texture that was thick and juicy, character that was average with the session not having much variability over time. Finish & aftertaste was decent, nice lingering mushroom yumminess at the tail end of each cup, cha-qi that is slightly noticeable especially in the stomach and the head, and steep longevity that is bang average for shous, ending about steep 10-12.

Overall, decent but slightly disappointing. 2000 Old Warrior is better in my opinion.

Good daily drinker! I got this tea from my recent YS order, and it wasn’t anything special but overall was quite decent. Easily breakable cake with a good proportion of buds for a shou mei, rich wet leaf aroma and a wafty dry leaf nuanced aroma, liquor was vibrant. Flavour was decent, sweet but generally quite simple and uncomplex. Character was not that amazing as the session was pretty unidimensional. Finish & aftertaste was decent, good juicy finish with a mild, sweet aftertaste. Cha-qi was unnoticeable and steep longevity was pretty decent, possibly lasting up to steep 10+.

Overall, not a special special tea but a good one for the value and as a daily drinker.

Wonderful aged sheng! I got this tea from my recent YS order, and this tea definitely is worth it for the price. The brick was easily breakable, albeit having a mix of stems and leaves with, it still has a relatively decent proportion of buds. One thing though is that the brick has quite a fair bit of hair compressed into it, at least with the sample that I got. Rich aroma in the wet leaf with a nuanced smokey aroma in the dry leaf, liquor was a vibrant amber orange with a slight viscosity to it.

Flavour was really impressive especially in the first few steeps with a complex mix of smokey, bitter, stonefruits, and an aged fermented taste. Rich, deep, vibrant. Texture was smooth yet astringent, evolving into juiciness as one swallows the liquor, character was decent-ish to good, with a nice evolution of flavour from deep and vibrant to a more simple honey sweetness that was still nice (albeit I preferred the liquor as presented in the first few steeps). Finish & aftertaste was decent, great juicy finish with a mild lingering smokey/sweet aftertaste. Cha-qi was pretty decent, good buzz especially at the first few steeps, but on top of that an active stomach sensation that was present later on. Steep longevity was decent to good. I stopped at steep 10 but I think this tea could go on to steep 11-12.

Overall, a wonderful tea that could easily be 85-90+ if the flavour present in the first few steeps persisted for longer along with ticking a few more boxes in the finish and aftertaste department. Potentially worth getting a full brick.

An okay to decent oolong! I got the 2022 harvest of this tea from my recent Camellia Sinensis order, and it was nice but it didn’t last long. Very nice leaves albeit slightly dull and slightly broken, creamy and milky aroma that was extremely delicious but not potent enough, liquor was vibrant and active with a bright greenish-yellow hue. Flavour was decent for the first few steeps, reminds me of a Jin Xuan, creamy and milky and overall flavourful. Texture is decent, smooth yet with a slight bite. Character is lacking however with poor performance in the cup in later steeps, finish & aftertaste was quite nice, good airy finish with a slight milky aftertaste. Cha-qi was almost non-existent and steep longevity was mediocre to poor. Overall, a good tea but nothing too amazing especially past the first few steeps.

Promising but short-lived hope with this tea. I got this tea from my OWT order, and it was yummy but fell short. Beautiful leaves with a rich and nuanced aroma, vibrant liquor, very rich taste that balances the floral and mineral of yancha, texture that is smooth yet juicy. Character fell short quite hard as the tea fell to mediocrity as steeps went on. Finish & aftertaste was decent with a prominent minty and airy aftertaste, cha-qi was almost non-existent, and steep longevity was poor, topping at around steep 8.

Decent black. I got the 2022 harvest of this tea from my recent YS order, and it’s nice but not extraordinary. Beautiful leaves with few buds, rich aroma, vibrant liquor, flavour was decent but not amazing, rich and malty. Texture is decent, character is mediocre, finish & aftertaste is average to decent, cha-qi is surprisingly strong in the stomach and when it comes to the buzzy heady feeling, and steep longevity is pretty decent (steep 11+) considering that its a black tea.

Decent Dong Ding! I got the 2022 harvest of this tea from my MST order, and it was going very well until it fell off around steep 4. Beautiful leaves, beautiful aroma in wet and dry leaf, liquor is vibrant but a bit thin. The flavour was delicate and nuanced, nutty and warm which was amazing, texture is decent, slight astringent and juicy yet smooth. Character is decent, finish & aftertaste is average to decent, cha-qi is average, and steep longevity is mediocre, ending at steep 6-7. Overall, a promising tea that was really good at the start but fell off, hence the sub 80 rating.

Nice puerh! I got this tea from my BLT order, and it is a juice bomb. Beautiful leaves, with a rich savoury aroma and a vibrant yellow liquor full of trichomes, the flavour of this tea is quite decent, rich and savoury. The texture is a wonderful juice-bomb that salivates the mouth, the character is average to decent, the finish & aftertaste is decent, definitely helped by the texture of this tea, the cha-qi is underrated as it isn’t so in your face but it actually affects more of the stomach, so don’t drink this tea on an empty stomach. The steep longevity is decent to good, lasting 11-12+ steeps. Overall, a really nice tea that just breaks the 80+ for me.

Decent yancha. I got this tea from my OWT order, and it’s nice but not extraordinary. Beautiful leaves albeit slightly broken, rich dry and wet leaf aroma, liquor is vibrant in colour, flavour is quite nice, rich in minerality and roast, texture is smooth yet slightly bitey, character is average, finish & aftertaste is also average, cha-qi almost non-existent, and the steep longevity is pretty good (steep 11+). Overall, decent but nothing wowing generally.
