drank Snow Day by DAVIDsTEA
46 tasting notes

I loved loved loved Snow Day!

It combines two of my favorite things: peppermint and chocolate!

Now I’ve had some not so good peppermint and chocolate teas in the past, but I was really hoping the DAVIDsTEA version wouldn’t let me down…

It’s safe to say it didn’t!

Even if you’re not a huge fan of mint and or chocolate based teas, you have to admit that this tea at least LOOKS really nice… peppermint leaves, chocolate pieces, WHITE chocolate pieces, and white sugar snowflakes?!?!

It does have a fairly noticeable smell of peppermint when you sniff it for the first time. Once brewed it also has a dominant peppermint taste with the chocolate more of an aftertaste. If you’re not a peppermint fan then you may not like this tea, as it may be a bit more mint heavy then you’d like. But for a peppermint freak like me I did not mind it one bit.

It’s also a sweet tea but it’s not overly sweet. You can add in you choice of sweetener but I found it sweet enough just on it’s own.

I found Snow Day to be a delicious and comforting tea and give it two snowflakes!

My daughter just gave me some of this with the caveat that I have to wait for her to be here with me to drink it. I can’t wait!

Beatrice

Hope you both enjoy it as much as I did!

drank Moment of Zen by DAVIDsTEA
46 tasting notes

I found Moment of Zen to be an interesting green tea. I liked the combination of jasmine, blossoms, and blackberry. It had a delicious smell that reminded me of light florals.

The taste was also interesting. You could taste the green tea with jasmine and it had a slight blackberry aftertaste. I’m a huge blackberry fan so I wouldn’t have minded if the blackberry taste was more prominent. It also wasn’t bitter or overly sweet either. I have to say I did find this to be a pleasant cup of tea, and enjoyed the jasmine/blackberry combination.

I really wanted to like Dark Chocolate Delight but was disappointed. I was hoping the flavor would be rich and decadent, given that it’s a dark chocolate tea, but I found it tasted quite flat and bitter. I found this upsetting because I really wanted to like this tea. I had high hopes for this one because I really liked Hot Chocolate also by DAVIDsTEA. I’ll have to give this one another try.

drank Forever Nuts by DAVIDsTEA
46 tasting notes

The herbal nut blends at David’s is really starting to grow on me. I wasn’t a huge fan of nuts in my tea at first but they’re actually pretty good.

I found Forever Nuts to be no exception. It had such a delicious smell! It reminded me of warm apple pie or oatmeal cookies. Reminds me of cool fall mornings in my pajama’s with a cup of tea.

I noticed an interesting ingredient in this one – beetroot. I find it quite random actually, but the beetroot gives the tea a pink liquor! And I mean bright pink. It almost felt like I should be drinking something fruity and summery, but it tasted nutty and sweet with a hint of apples and cinnamon.

I would love to try this one again as a latte in the near future. Since it’s caffeine free it’s also great as an evening tea as well.

drank Mulled Wine by DAVIDsTEA
46 tasting notes

Ah, mulled wine.

The first time I ever had actual mulled wine was at a restaurant nearby. They had sangria on the menu so I decided to order that, only to find out they didn’t have any because it ’wasn’t in season’. They then suggested mulled wine as an alternative cause you know, it ‘was the next best thing’.

Biggest mistake ever. I hated it. It tasted downright awful.

So you can imagine my enthusiasm when I tried the DAVIDsTEA version of mulled wine.

It had potential – after all it didn’t smell bad. It had lots of zest (I can imagine from the oranges) and lots of cinnamon.

I was half expecting it to taste like the mulled wine I remember having, but it was actually quite the opposite. It was light with a lot of cinnamon. I could taste a bit of orange with ginger and clove but hardly any oolong, which was disappointing. It also did not remind me of wine one bit.

I didn’t hate this tea but I did not enjoy it either and don’t see myself having this one again.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this sencha from David’s. I had a feeling it would be more of a straight-up sorta tea than the overly flavorful teas I’m used to from David’s.

The dry leaves had a distinct earthy and grassy aroma to it. The tea leaves themselves were long, and small thin pieces. Some of them almost looked slightly crushed. It’s interesting to note that the tea leaves are steamed as well.

Once brewed it had a pale yellow/green liquor to it. It tasted very similar to it’s smell – grassy, vegetal, and hints of earthiness. I was half expecting it to have a bitterness taste to it but it did not.

I found Japanese Sencha to be a refreshing and calming tea. I can see myself enjoying this especially after a heavy meal.

drank Caribbean Crush by DAVIDsTEA
46 tasting notes

I had this one during lunch the other day when I walked in a Davids store. I was looking for a new herbal to try and out of the three samples I sniffed (unfortunately I couldn’t remember the names of the others) this one smelled the best and was ‘limited edition’ so I decided to give it a try.

Once brewed it had a very pale link liquor. My first thought was that maaayybe it wasn’t fully steeped, given that it’s also herbal, but I decided to go for it anyways.

It was surprisingly very good. It was incredibly sweet (mind you I had a bit of honey added) but I thought it tasted delicious. It definitely was not watery and did not lack any flavor at all.

It really reminded me of fruit punch. I had this one hot but I imagine it would taste good iced as well.

Not sure where they got the ‘caribbean’ in it’s name from. My first thoughts were of fruit punch and not so much a tropical one, but it was still good nevertheless.

drank Honey, I Dew by DAVIDsTEA
46 tasting notes

With a cute name like this, how can you not like this tea right off the bat??

This tea smells very sweet and fruity, and has lots of dried fruit: apple, pineapple, melon, and mango pieces. There’s also white tea leaves and rose petals as well.

Once brewed it has a delicious, sweet taste. Definitely fruity with a hint of florals as well. Oddly enough I could taste a watermelon aftertaste that reminded me of Juicy Fruit gum. This didn’t bother me as I love anything watermelon related.

I found this tea to be deliciously sweet but not too sweet. I found it just fine on its own and didn’t feel the need to add in any sugar or honey.

drank Alpine Punch by DAVIDsTEA
46 tasting notes

Alpine Punch is a tea I’ve been waiting to get my hands on and am glad when I finally did.

Let’s start off by saying how delicious the smell is – divine!

Right away I noticed the heavy almond/marzipan aroma it had. It reminded me of almond sugar cookies my mom used to buy when I was a kid. Yum.

Looking at the individual loose pieces, there was a lot going on. To name a few you could see rooibos, almonds, dried apples, cinnamon, small pieces of coconut and ginger, rose blossoms, and cardamom. Since there’s a lot going on I was worried Alpine Punch might turn out to be another Organic North African Mint, which I did NOT enjoy. It was way too spicy for me and put my mouth on fire.

It’s safe to say this tea turned out delicious. When I took the first sip, I did not get punched in the face (pun intended) with a bunch of spices. Phew!

It was very sweet, smooth, and creamy. There was also a nutty taste which came from the almonds and coconut. It was smooth and subtle and you could also taste hints of apple and cinnamon as well.

It did have a spicy aftertaste, most likely due from the black pepper and ginger. Luckily it wasn’t overpowering and was just enough to give you a warm buzz from the inside – perfect for those chilly nights.

drank Buddha's Blend by DAVIDsTEA
46 tasting notes

Buddha’s Blend sounded promising so you know I had to go give it a try…

The name alone made me think zen, tranquility, and peaceful thoughts.

I have to say my favorite part about this tea was its smell. It was so delicious I could almost eat it. It was sweet, floral, and had a bit of a fragrance to it. It reminded me of the gummy bears and fuzzy peaches candy.

Once brewed I was a little disappointed as the taste did not quite live up to its delicious aroma. It tasted bitter. This could be my fault as I may have accidentally over steeped it. It did have a nice aftertaste that felt refreshing. I noticed I liked the tea better once it had cooled down – I could then taste more of the sweet floral taste.

I’ll have to give this tea another try and pay more attention to my steep time. With a smell this good it would be disappointing to have the tea taste bitter.
